BBC now confirming that Trump is "fine".

Unclear whether the one death is an innocent by stander or the actual shooter still.

No

Gotcha.  I don't know much about guns just was trying to think about something that could wound like that without being lethal.

It was interesting to hear the response of the crowd who love their guns.

I'd be okay with the 20 point penalty in fairness.

I would gladly take the points in the Inverse Dead Pool if it meant the chances of Project 2025 coming to fruition were greatly reduced.

Apparently was already down before Trump was taken of the stage.

Not everyone.

I didn't think he was guaranteed survival on an open campaign trail.

Didn’t say he deserved it either though, eh?

I said he brought it on himself. Which he clearly has by his rhetoric.

"He deserves it" and "he brought it on himself" are the same. Cause basically, you’re saying that it’s ok to shot at a politician if you find his rethoric too harsh or controversial.

Apparently the shooter. If so then he’s dead.

Confirmed shooter dead and one bystander. Also confirmed Trump “grazed by a bullet”.

Fucks sake the man incites others to violence - that is not inconsequential behaviour for him and for others - he doesn’t deserve to be shot but he has brought it on himself.

They aren’t the same though.

I’m saying I’m not surprised he was shot at…because his actions and words over the last decade have led to this…

I can’t decide if you are a Karen, or simply retarded.

I’d be amazed if British TV ever show that footage. Particularly not in daytime hours tomorrow,

People are shot at, injured and killed by guns every day in the USA.

So I find it strange that the faux outrage that nobody should target politicians - who are "people" in a country where guns are freely available.

It's utter nonsense to suggest they are immune from this. Might be a nutter with a gun, might be something else. But shooting politicians as with anyone from little kids to the aged is a national pasttime.

This is a false equivalency. Violence is, of course, terrible. Shooting a presidential candidate is an assault on the nation. It is an attempt to usurp our right to choose our leaders.

I despise Trump and all he stands for, but this is not merely an assault on him. As a citizen of this country, I am injured by both the attempt to alter the election but also the contribution to general political upheaval.

Regardless of whether he is a demagogue and has endorsed violence himself, it is truly disturbing and disgraceful to suggest that this is a missed opportunity.

And Colombine, Sandy Hook, Las Vegas (and many many more) are not an assault on the nation?

I do not think Trump deserves to be shot. I don't think anyone deserves to be shot.

The political class however is the only one that can change that.

You can also facepalm my comment that deserve and 'bring it on himself' are not the same all you like. The are not the same.

But I note you don't do the same to @Grim Up North, who clarifies that. Did he change your mind?
