Madame Defarge 21 Posted June 26, 2006 Goat demoted for parade incident LONDON, England (AP) -- A British army regiment's ceremonial pet goat was demoted in disgrace after it marched out of line before a host of international dignitaries during a parade to mark Queen's Elizabeth II's birthday, a military spokesman said Saturday. After reading the entire list of Billy's, er, indiscretions, I wonder how he managed to avoid a dishonorable discharge for conduct unbecoming....
Banshees Scream 110 Posted June 26, 2006 Very sad news. Harriet, the world's oldest tortoise, has died in Australia. Link There life spans really amuse me. Only if they knew how to make a human live that long. Slowing down the aging process.

Godot 149 Posted June 26, 2006 Bruno the bear has been shot dead. Why did they have to shoot it? So it killed a few sheep, robbed a bee hive and raided a rabbit hutch. It's a bloody bear.

VSBfromH 74 Posted June 27, 2006 Moose (aka Eddie) "Actor" who played Martin Crane's dog in "Frasier". Yes, I know I'm going to get criticised for putting him in this thread and he's already in the animal antics one, but what the hell! I think he's a lot more widely known than many others featured. Schism 2 Posted June 28, 2006 Lemming Impersonations Perhaps the shepperds heard that it's best to do the sheep on the edge of the cliff cause they push back harder. Must have been a wild party though for that many to tummble over.

No sadly, since DDP rules strictly prohibt the choosing of animals (in fact, if my memory serves me right, Harriet the Tortise was the prime example of who you couldn't pick). Too bad too, since I was definetely surprised to hear that Koko the Sign Language Gorilla is still around... floating dangerously close to the average lifespan of a Gorilla too... TLC 9 Posted July 13, 2006 Champion racehorse Barbaro not likely to survive infection. From the above link ..and his veterinarian called his chances for survival "a long shot." I'd have thought a long shot would be the guaranteed method of death if anything, or have equine medical practices moved beyond use of the double barrelled shotgun in these enlightened times?
