Lady Die 63 Posted August 8, 2006 Britains oldest spider That article doesn't actually say it was the oldest spider, just the biggest. Same thing. Not necessarily.... *sigh* Ok then, she was the biggest, but I can't really think of any other spider older than her. Can you think of any other spider at all?!

TLC 9 Posted August 8, 2006 Mr Jackson said it was a myth that the spiders ate birds, but in their natural habitat they fed on small mammals and frogs. Well perhaps there should have been more thought before naming it the 'goliath birdeater tarantula' then. I imagine that name in itself probably helped it avoid a few fights during its lifetime. VSBfromH 74 Posted August 11, 2006 You'll all be relieved to learn that this rabid squirrel has gone to meet its maker. "Officers had previously tried to subdue the animal with pepper spray" Hope they followed correct procedure and read it it's rights! Can't wait for the follow-up speech from George W. reassuring us all that "the US will leave no stone unturned in in its continuing fight against terror squirrels, etc. etc."

I can't be sure if it was that squirrel (photographed before the event) or some other squirrel. They all look pretty much alike to me.
