Living wall has died

Animal, vegetable, mineral... I didn't want to start off a whole new thread for plants, so hope no-one minds me placing this here.

"The UK's first living wall in Islington, north London, has died just three years after it was built. The DSDHA-designed £1.5 million children's centre opened in 2006 with more than 30 different plants growing through a steel mesh on the 30-foot façade. But the once green frontage ... is now just a host of brown, wilted plants."

Apparently £100,000 of taxpayers' money was involved, so quite a hoo-haa!

Chanel the Dachshund has died aged 21.

"Guinness World Records honoured Chanel as the world's oldest dog in May at a 21st birthday party"

Although:

"A dog from Louisiana named Max is now vying for the record of world's oldest dog. Owner Janelle Derouen said Max marked his 26th birthday on August 9 and added that Guinness World Records was reviewing documents to authenticate his age."

Marcus the sheep sent to slaughterhouse.

I think that headmaster's a champion.

"The school now plans to buy pigs to use them to make sausages."

Brilliant.

I wouldn't want to be a pedant Juan Carlos but I think you'll find that unless Andrea Charman is a JLC, it's headmistress. Otherwise I agree, she is a champion. Maybe during their French classes they could try shoving a funnel down the ducks neck to force feed them and produce some foie gras, or for religious studies call up the local imam to sacrifice the goat. If they go to sea world on a school trip I hope they remember to take on board the geography lessons about Norwegian and Japanese hunting traditions.

Have I gone too far? Someone pass my jacket.

They should pack him off to Lydd Primary School.

Some bush meat burgers would help the kids' education no end.

A bit old and grainy, and probably already seen before by everyone but me, this film shows what to do if a whale dies on your beach.

She should have kept guinea pigs like everyone else.

Also kept at the house are a Bengal tiger and an African lion.

A Great White in the pond perchance?

Edit: the accompanying thread goes pleasingly off topic.

Following on from the UK's biggest carp, most famous goat, most expensive sheep etc, we have the demise of Chilli, Britain's Tallest Cow, who was put to sleep when his arthritis got too painful.

Chilli burgers anyone?
