VSBfromH 74 Posted August 24, 2009 Living wall has died Animal, vegetable, mineral... I didn't want to start off a whole new thread for plants, so hope no-one minds me placing this here. "The UK's first living wall in Islington, north London, has died just three years after it was built. The DSDHA-designed £1.5 million children's centre opened in 2006 with more than 30 different plants growing through a steel mesh on the 30-foot façade. But the once green frontage ... is now just a host of brown, wilted plants." Apparently £100,000 of taxpayers' money was involved, so quite a hoo-haa! Monoclinic 39 Posted September 14, 2009 Marcus the sheep sent to slaughterhouse. I think that headmaster's a champion. "The school now plans to buy pigs to use them to make sausages." Brilliant. I wouldn't want to be a pedant Juan Carlos but I think you'll find that unless Andrea Charman is a JLC, it's headmistress. Otherwise I agree, she is a champion. Maybe during their French classes they could try shoving a funnel down the ducks neck to force feed them and produce some foie gras, or for religious studies call up the local imam to sacrifice the goat. If they go to sea world on a school trip I hope they remember to take on board the geography lessons about Norwegian and Japanese hunting traditions. Have I gone too far? Someone pass my jacket.
