Irresponsible of him to restand for election next year IMHO.

True, though in Ayr there's also the party pressure thing of "he can keep the seat for us" with local Tories. He managed to hold the seat in 2011 and 2016 against SNP local surge  due to being quite popular. We've seen in recent years how the parties can convince folk to run when they shouldn't in case they can keep a seat, see Dennis Skinner in Bolsover last year.

"We did not hope he would survive". Why the fuck did you grant him treatment, morons?

Edit: Well, according to Wikipedia, he is also known as Kang Kek Iew or Kaing Kek Iev, romanized as Kain Guek Eav.

Nom de Guerre Comrade Duch or Deuch - or Hang Pin.

Kang Kek Iew dead

edit: :clivedunn: why must this bitch have so many names?

This means that the only living senior member of Khmer Rouge is Khieu Samphan, aged 89. It's been just two years since Nuon Chea and Samphan were found guilty of genocide.

Florence Pendleton, Shadow Senator for the District of Columbia (1991–2007), dead at 94.

Shadow reps were introduced for D.C. in both the Senate and the House of Representatives in 1991 to try and give the district greater representation in Congress.

The other D.C. Shadow Senator at the time was none of that The Rev. Jesse Jackson – who is 80 next year.

In 2017, shadow reps were also introduced for Puerto Rico.

Pendleton is the first Shadow congressperson to die.

He is symptomatic too, but not "in danger" apparently. Guess he will be hospitalised anyway.

Tunisia:

*Zine El Abidine Ben Ali (1936), president and PM, now exiled, but in good health despite rumoursIf for "good health" you mean "terminal prostate cancer"

*Hédi Baccouche (1930), former PM who is now a writer.

*Hamed Karoui (1927), rumoured to be dead last year, he actually lost his brother a month later circa. His nephew will run for president.

*Habib Ben Yahia (1938) Foreign Minister, now jailed for power abuse.

*Abdelbaki Hermassi (1937) Foreign Minister

*Ahmed Ben Salah (1926): he was born to bring socialism and revolution in Tunisia, but failed. Now president of his own party.
