Labour MP for Brent Central and former shadow cabinet member Dawn Butler was diagnosed with Breast cancer in December and has undergone a mastectomy.Looks like it hasn't spread and was found through a routine mammogram .

Glenys Kinnock strikes me as a name that the committee could go for in the future.Then again I would have thought Frank Field would have been a pick by the committee.

 

Glenys retired from the Lords a year ago however I didn`t see that as suspicious as it is becoming far more common unlike when the House of Lords Reform Act 2014 came in to force and people were typically quitting a few months before they died.

 

The diagnosis also explains perhaps why Stephen Kinnock saw his parents during lockdown .

I tried bitching about it last month but it’s no use.  There should be a 48-hour moratorium on posting sudden or grave illnesses.  No way to police it I guess beyond blocking violators a month.

The honourable(!) member for Somerton and Frome is whipless whilst being investigated for sexual harrassment and cocaine use. Honestly, if only he'd hung out in Downing Street it'd likely have gone unnoticed next to all the other lively goings on. If it goes the way most of us likely suspect it will the resulting by-election sees the Tories defending a majority of 19.213. What could possibly go wrong if they risk that?

14. Abdelsalam al-Majali (18 February 1926-) Not the picture of health but he was able to talk clearly in June 2021.

Picture of Abdelsalam al-Majali (two-time Prime Minister of Jordan in the 90s) from last month. Looks great for a 96-year-old (or 97, his exact birth date isn't known) man, however he's in a wheelchair now.

Nguyễn Ngọc Trìu died off the radar in 2016. 

 

The alive ones are:

Nguyễn Thị Bình has gone downhill during the last years. In a video from November she could still sit, but looks ghoulish. Also seems like she now lives at 108 Hospital, as the video was probably filmed there. Most notable out of the living ones and won't die off radar. However it might take a while, Vietnamese politicians traditionally seem to spend around one to two years there before they finally die.

Trần Phương was wheelchairbound last year, but still leads Hanoi's University of Business and Technology. 

Nguyễn Khánh hasn't made appearances recently as far as I know.

Đoàn Duy Thành is also still alive.

Li Suwen, Chinese politician, vice chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress 1975-1978 dead at 89.

Apparently rose to fame for being a "popular vegetable seller" after which Mao gave her political power.

 

The same position has been held by a lot of people, usually multiple at the same time. Some of those who held it before 2000 are alive, all 80+. They include the Dalai Lama, Pagbalha Geleg Namgyai*, Zhou Guangzhao, Xu Jialu, Jiang Zhenghua and around five nonagenarians mentioned here before.

-. Josip "Joža" Manolić (22 March 1920-) Widowed from his wife, 36 years younger than him in 2020, had covid and pneumonia in April 2021, survived without getting hospitalised.

-. Colonel César Yanes Urías (24 April 1920-) "Frail" at 98 in 2018, partially blind and wheelchair-bound in April 2021.

1. (General) Francisco Morales Bermúdez Cerruti (4 October 1921-) Could not attend the presentation of his autobiography in 2018 due to health reasons, wheelchairbound since 2021, frail but not in such a bad condition.

2. Luis Echeverría Álvarez (17 January 1922-) Very frail, hospitalised with blood shortage to brain in 2006, pneumonia three times 2017-2018, rumored dead multiple times, wheelchair/bedbound and looked like a corpse in 2021. No pictures from his 100th birthday.

-. Branislav Šoškić (19 November 1922-4 April 2022) Was able to stand in 2016. Seems like there's been nothing on him since.

3. General Khamtai Siphandone (8 February 1924-) Looked ancient for the last 20 years but has really declined during the last months and was wheelchairbound and covered with a blanket the last time he appeared in public.
