Only Famous For Being Ill And Dying

Comments on Sims' GoFundMe suggest he died a few hours ago.

Seems he did die on Thursday but his parents held off on announcing the death until today. Presumably because they figured it'd get lost in the press if they'd announced it on Thursday?

RIP Mark Sims. He was truly an inspiration to others, as even when he knew his life was about to end, he still fund raised money to help other people with the same disease. Unfortunately, he had to pass at such a young age, but as Billy Joel once said, only the good die young.

That song is about how hard it is to fuck Italian girls if you're Jewish.

Now the question is will he obit? Cause if he doesn't, a few people like Toast and DDT would be happy while people who jokered him would be really pissed.

Hmm. Still no obit. I wonder, according to the veterans, the obit chances of Mark Sims. Cause enough people did put him on their teams and a lot of people jokered him.

if he doesn't get one in 24 hours he won't get one at all.

He won't get one in the first 24 hours but he'll definitely get one.

Lol. I said veterans, not people who don't even participate in the DDP.

Nah, just knowledge of how the inspirational cancer battler media game goes. The mother is doing BBC Radio Leicester at some point this week, plus Cancer Research UK will put out a press release, the intersection of those two should get him in the Mirror at least.

The Guardian used to cover him, I think that's the best bet. In my calculation I gave him a 70% chance of obiting. Though I do believe that he's one terror attack, or two A-list deaths away from not obiting.

I think he has enough accolades under his belt, on top of the aforementioned Cancer Research UK element, to get an obit. But I'll admit, when msc first posted that Sims took a turn for the worse, I thought "there's my joker". But as the deadline drew closer, the nagging feeling there was an outside chance he might not get one made me switch to Christie - that's something I like with the Drop 40 bonus, you can go for a popular 50-something cert and it'll be equal in value to the bonusless 20-something.

^ Why I went for Downie.

Making Dr S a joker is a risk, but then, Spade's not won 4 titles for nothing.

You say that but last year even Spade lost out through lack of an obit.

Huh?

Michel Delpech - died 2 January but no obit. Still.....he didn't need it with the 17 others deaths that DID produce an obit!!

Actually, it's RadGuy who's up top because he had Snuka, Sims joker, and McGiffin. I think that's 43 points if I calculated that correctly.

So, it's To Kill a Gabor Sister (and Everyone else in the vicinity) then.

5 people went for Carol in the DDP - convinced at least one mistook which sister was ill.
