drol 12,002 Posted May 20, 2017 I substituted Iron Sheikh with Johnny Hallyday.
Joey Russ 7,232 Posted May 29, 2017 Many of us had Noakes. Rockhopper and drol also had Konstantinos whatshisface on their teams, and Allman was a hit for me. Strange how a quarter of the baby boomers on my team have already died, but it's not going to be much easier though...
Joey Russ 7,232 Posted June 16, 2017 Wow! only 7 months in (for me) and already 1/4 of my list has died. Impressive, wonder if it'll at some point run ahead of gcreptile's list. This is only a suggestion, but what if, at the 1 year mark, on July 30th, we switch names of, I don't know, 2 - 3 people that we think are bad picks and replace them with 2 - 3 better people that we think are more likely, and do this every year at the yearly mark. This'll ensure that the game will go slightly faster, but not too fast, if you know what I mean. Again, it's only a suggestion from me, but just a thought... YoungWillz 21,078 Posted June 19, 2017 Brian Cant is the first of the second list for me to fall. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-40335213

YoungWillz 21,078 Posted June 22, 2017 I'm rather against the idea personally. Entrants for this game are locked in from the moment they posted. The game is open at any time for new entrants to join, so it all rather depends on when the post was made. I like that. It gives the game its speciality. We really have enough rolling deadpools that when ever someone dies the whole list can be changed, and there is a uniqueness about Death By Numbers that there can be changes at the half way point. In one of the only pools that Shaun runs where there are no changes (except when someone doesn't gain a QO), I'd hate to lose that.
Sean 6,339 Posted June 22, 2017 I am kind of on that same page.
Joey Russ 7,232 Posted June 22, 2017 That is definitely understandable YoungWilz and I can definitely see why it's a problem in your view. It was only a suggestion anyways to try to make the game move slightly faster anyways, and they don't always pass through.
Joey Russ 7,232 Posted June 22, 2017 Not related to my suggestion, but I just noticed @msc has 24 picks on the GI Generation section of the game.

gcreptile 10,980 Posted July 8, 2017 Thanks Shaun! 25/60 now. I think other people have caught up quite a bit in recent months. I'm not sure I'm still first. But then, without a time limit it simply depends on who is the last hit. One wrong pick and you're out. I think I should have gone for more ALS/dementia types. They're not as risky as cancer people.
Joey Russ 7,232 Posted July 8, 2017 Only 8 months, and I already got 15 hits. Though I'm sure a couple of people will hold me back. I think you are still first, but not by a lot.
Sean 6,339 Posted July 8, 2017 Interesting part of the game is that some of the best teams could still struggle if they miscalculate the health or obit chances of just a couple of picks.
Sean 6,339 Posted July 8, 2017 I havent done a scoreboard as it seems the surviving picks are what needs to be judged.

It would be nice to know whose closest though, if even if they just sit at 74 picks for months on end, it'd be amusing. I've just looked at my team again and there's absolutely no way I can win this unless there's a few interesting car crashes.

gcreptile 10,980 Posted July 8, 2017 Had to look at a couple of my picks now, especially the rarities I found last year, Lord Henry Mountcharles and Sir Owen Glenn. Glenn is doing fine, and feeling well enough to battle in court. Lord Mountcharles however is doing not so good.

Sean 6,339 Posted July 8, 2017 I have decided when this game ends I will do a second volume that will go: _The Silent Generation (1925_1942) _Baby Boomers (1943_1953) _Generation Jones (1954_1965) That shouldnt be for a couple of years at least though I would think.
