rockhopper penguin 2,266 Posted January 23, 2017 I shall say this only once, Gordon Kaye a shoo in for this week.
maryportfuncity 10,773 Posted January 23, 2017 I shall say this only once, Gordon Kaye a shoo in for this week. Pete - Overend - Watts a strong possibility but there's a working week between him and certainty
rockhopper penguin 2,266 Posted January 25, 2017 OK we know Kaye is in, but will we hear about Parfitt's Wild Side of Life? Will they Roll Away the Stone for Watts? Has Adams gone down a rabbit hole for good? Who knows, unless you are the producer of the show.

maryportfuncity 10,773 Posted January 26, 2017 MTM? A shoo in I'd assume Along with Tam Dalyell because they always have pre-prepared and substantial stuff on major political figures

Aye, but he'd likely shade it over Pete Overend Watts
rockhopper penguin 2,266 Posted January 27, 2017 It's Dalyell, Lownes, Cole, Youguang and Kaye. Enjoy the show.
Joey Russ 7,329 Posted January 27, 2017 Wait, no Mary Tyler Moore? Clearly she'll be on next week.

Toast 16,319 Posted January 27, 2017 Wait, no Mary Tyler Moore? Clearly she'll be on next week. She's not all that interesting, is she? Personally I'm surprised she seems to be such a big name for UK peeps. I can remember her being on a regular TV show with Dick van Dyke when I was very, very young, but she has not impinged upon my world in any way since.

In the 60s and 70s we relied a lot more on our American cousins for a supply of entertainment. Since then we've become more of an exporter than an importer. Still think she might appear on a quiet week in future.

I mostly know the name from her television production company because it had the logo like the MGM lion only with a kitten. The company produced shows like St Elsewhwere, Hill Street Blues and Remmington Steele. I think I must have watched whatever was on after them.
Spade_Cooley 9,704 Posted January 27, 2017 I think her death now is bigger than it would have been five/ten years ago because of the whole "we're living in the Golden Age of TV" meme and The Mary Tyler Moore Show was obviously one of the most important TV shows of all-time (revolutionised the sitcom, first 'feminist' TV show, first gay character on US TV, 'Chuckles Bites the Dust' et al). Aye, agreed and - at the same time - if they covered all the possible and made it an hour they'd destroy the magic
drol 12,499 Posted January 27, 2017 She got plenty of Italian obits, but she was not a celebrity here. Paradoxically, Rhoda was transmitted more than Mary Tyler Moore in the 80s.
