CaptainChorizo 1,982 Posted January 28, 2017 Is John Hurt the most picked person in a year without a single person making them their joker? 27 with no jokers would have to be one of the highest
Death Impends 7,975 Posted January 28, 2017 Since contributions look to be okay now I'll get started on the D names shortly though they won't be done immediately, I'll work on them in increments through the next week or so...
Joey Russ 7,227 Posted January 28, 2017 Is John Hurt the most picked person in a year without a single person making them their joker? 27 with no jokers would have to be one of the highest Actually, there were two people in the drop 40 who weren't jokered by anyone, Jerry Lewis and Stan Lee. drunkasaskunk 194 Posted January 28, 2017 Remind me, is the Daily Record a suitable obit source or not anymore? I am referring to Simpson. No - nothing Scottish No dogs, no blacks, no jews and nothing Scottish No Scottish players even? Only people who ENGLISH newspapers think are celebrities, so definitely no Jocks. If the Daily mirror publishes an obit, it counts. If the Scottish version - The Daily Record does - it doesn't. If The Sun publishes an obit, it counts. If the Scottish Sun does, It doesn't. BBC News pages from Asia, Canada, Australia, Latin America and the Middle East count - But NOT BBC news from Scotland.

msc 18,466 Posted January 28, 2017 It is annoying, yes (though personally I blame certain folk who kept moaning on and on and on about "local" obits in 2015 for it), but all the Scots on the DDP have nabbed obits so far. Even Jamie Daniel. You'd have to expect Billy Simpson nabbing a Guardian obit at some point in the next week or two.

msc 18,466 Posted January 28, 2017 To win points, there must be the mention of a celebrity's death on a national online news source: BBC*: bbc.co.uk/news bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts bbc.co.uk/news/business bbc.co.uk/news/education bbc.co.uk/news/uk (that's UK in general, not it's component parts - Scotland, Wales, NI etc) bbc.co.uk/news/world bbc.co.uk/sport bbc.co.uk/newsbeat bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics bbc.co.uk/news/magazine Yes. Deathray 2,940 Posted January 28, 2017 So the Daily Record doesn't count, but a live thread mention in the bbc's football section (which covers virtually every professional match) does? What a fucking joke. I'll be padding my team out with no name footballer players next year.

I've worked by balls off for EIGHT FUCKING YEARS and all I get it "Mi Mi Mi Mi Mi!" If you don't like the rules, don't fucking enter. Simple as fucking that. That's it. 2017 is MY LAST YEAR. PERIOD. Someone else can fucking do it. I'm sick of my time being wasted like this. Someone else can take up the fucking cudgel and spend hour after hour, entering teams, making updates etc etc and having to put up with moaning minnies every fucking year. I've taken it as far as i can go. No more. and Paul Lambert can fuck off an' all...

What a fucking joke. I'll be padding my team out with no name footballer players next year. It does look like a good source of qualifying obits. Eastleigh goalkeeper Ryan Clarke's dad died last year http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/37731905 Tommy Bryceland died last year too. Despite getting a mention in the Daily Record, The Herald and the Scotsman he wouldn't have counted (if anyone had picked him) until he got THIS mention in a live page "After a minute's applause at Carrow Road for former Norwich player Tommy Bryceland, who has died aged 76, we get under way." http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/35207755 Dai Williams, the kit man for the Welsh Football team passed away unnoticed - apart from a comment here http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/31963750 I notice that these pages invite comments from the public, some of which are published so it might be possible to sneak in a wee mention of the death of a woman who danced with a man who danced with a girl who danced with the prince of Wales. AND I LIKE PAUL LAMBERT ! ! ! HE SCORED A CRACKER FOR CELTIC AGAINST RANGERS:-)
