Grim Up North 3,720 Posted January 31, 2018 Haha - Anne Hamilton-Byrne - spent my last round in The Cup last year waiting for her to take her last breath - considered her briefly for this year but just couldn't bring myself to - good luck Mary - I pinched her of you anyway last year so you deserve a hit from her whereas I didn't. Death Impends 7,947 Posted January 31, 2018 AHB and Nevin were the two "this has to be their month, right?" baddies of last Cup. Think some of my Cup squads from last year have Nevin as the only one standing!
msc 18,402 Posted January 31, 2018 I picked Nevin in the DDP this year on the basis that if she has Gord Downie style prognosis, she might just live to the World Cup but not much further. You can all laugh at this in December, likely. AHB isn't unique btw.

She could very well actually have brain cancer, even if the deathbed reports from last March were BS.

Joey Russ 7,212 Posted February 1, 2018 A lot of interesting teams. I think I’ll have tough competition going into round 2 (Philomena Lynott and Vanessa Goodwin is no use this round). I had Vervoort and Jowell on the sub benches, cause while I think they’ll die soon, I don’t think it’s quite their month yet. Jose Jose is also confusing right now, though I think he’ll die before the end of the year. I wish I had seen that Liam Miller update before I submitted my team though. Also, who else tried to pick Jacqui Forster even though she got rejected?
Heef 166 Posted February 1, 2018 Extraordinary! Join us around the grounds as we start our in depth coverage of the Premier Deathpooling Cup competition. Our correspondents will bring you the goals and the near misses and a whole load of clichés. There'll be some upsets on the way and we'll be waiting to see who can book their slots for the Wembley finale. It's about consistency here in the Cup. A big win doesn't net you any additional plaudits We're underway. No goals yet, but we're barely half-way through the first minute of the round. msc 18,402 Posted February 1, 2018 Just now, Joey Russ said: Also, is there a reason why two of my picks are in bold? Yes, they were unique picks so I bolded them to remember their spelling when adding to the masterlist. Then forgot when I copy and pasted from word doc over to here. YoungWillz 20,942 Posted February 1, 2018 I have a solo pick with Dodd? You know, the guy that's in the hospital? Improving yes, but I thought someone else would have a punt on him. But who knows? The way old favourites are dropping, it's who gets the luck of this flu that's going about...

YoungWillz 20,942 Posted February 1, 2018 The above graphic shows my team as they take the field. I've gone for a 4-4-2 formation (whatever that is). Pope in goal...Jesus Saves. Williams, Barker and Stiles in defence...nothing gets past them. Nifty midfield of Maren, Poitier, McCain and Bush...couldn't put both McCain and Bush on the right....hmmm. Dodd and Greaves up front as most likely to score. Get your shorts on, game on!

And we both have a fair share of D40 and otherwise popular names. Even Bracknell and Vervoort are on one team or the other. I agree YoungWillz it's a bit of a surprise that Dodd is a solo. Imagine my surprise to see Overton as a solo for me. SC
