Sir Creep 7,070 Posted May 1, 2018 Boudicca I don't know why you are shocked to see activity in Chirac's Couple, it's where sophisticated talk of culture begins. Then an hour later it's potty humour and other sordid discussions no other thread should tolerate. SC
msc 18,483 Posted May 1, 2018 5 hours ago, Sir Creep said: sophisticated talk of culture begins. Aye, very sophisticated. Boringly, I started on Tennants (like pissy water tbh), moved to Guinness, and found a quick fondness for whisky/vodka/other spirits. Although I remember my first time in the pub with the Auld Yin. I was an antisocial git even as a teen so he's apparently thinking it wont be a long visit. Enter the pub, and first thing we hear is a loud cheery voice going "Msc?" (Yeah I know, but for retelling sake.) I'd been at school with the barman. It really is a small world. Some of my old teachers used to drink in that pub (Heraghty's) though that's going back 25+ years now. Auld Yin got the scoop off one, one night, on who were the 2 up for the heave at my school. As it was the teacher that hit kids and the one that smelt of wine after lunch, no much of a scoop admittedly. Anyhow, I digress.
CarolAnn 926 Posted May 1, 2018 I am only going to go so far as to say there is a reason I haven't had a drink in 26 years. Which, yes, is half my life.
Boudicca 702 Posted May 1, 2018 I drove past that offy we were talking about earlier LFN. I wanted to take a photo, but there might have been a bit of trouble if I did. Lots of hazards about. You'll know the proximity to the cop shop not ideal. Probably the same sort of bother C.A is referring to.Yip, best avoided even for DLing purposes.

I don't really drink anymore, unless I'm on holiday or on a very rare night out. I cannot say that I ever enjoyed drinking, well, until I had drunk about 5 pints or several shorts. Then I began to like it. Alot

Very brave.

gcreptile 10,979 Posted May 1, 2018 Reminds me how the German "Battenberg" turned into "Mountbatten". When I was conscripted, my officer's last name was "Battenberg". I ... don't think he was nobility.

Lord Fellatio Nelson 6,219 Posted May 1, 2018 Wee Jimmy Sturgeon has now raised the price of booze in Scotland, some to stratospheric ( from where they were) amounts. This will, supposedly, start to tackle the problem with alcohol consumption experienced north of the border. Ok.
charon 4,943 Posted May 1, 2018 Aye, my £12.15 box of 3 bottles of wine now £15.36. Always will vote Nat, until Indy, then they can get to fuck. Unelectable.
