time 8,599 Posted February 7, 2019 @Spade_Cooley 'A's are done and sent. To whoever picked Andy Anderson, thanks! Do you realise how many Andersons called Andy there are? (All of them, that's how many). Anyway, if there's any more to do, give me a nudge.

I thought I was making the changes. What is @Toast sending you? To create an image: Go to the DDP entry and right-click on where the photo should be. Click on 'Copy Image Location' and paste the link on to your working list, eg Graham Linehan http://www.derbydeadpool.co.uk/images/celebs/l/linehagx19.jpg/ At this point I delete everything from the link except what will be the image title, so I have: Graham Linehan linehagx19 Find a suitable image of the subject and save it. Use whatever photo editing software is your choice, and crop the image so it's square. Resize to 150 x 150 pixels. Save as jpeg and rename using the image title from your list, eg linehagx19 When you're done, send the images in a zip file to Spade at the DDP email address.

OK so you are making a Word doc or summat with links yes? That is the step wasn't explained. So I am going to ship my list of .pdf links with new name AS WELL AS the new photos in a zipped folder. If that is correct just nod lol
Sir Creep 7,070 Posted February 7, 2019 OK I think I got this. Leave the letter D alone lol
Going Underground 74 Posted February 7, 2019 I know its early days but feel Dewar isn't going to get the QO. His passing barely getting recognised in Canada to be honest Ah well. Gamble didn't pay off (so far) but not been a bad old start.

Colour me shocked that a guy who finished 5th in a leadership race for the 3rd most popular party in Canada didn’t get a QO. 1

If it hadn't been for the obits in the Ottawa Citizen, Global News, McLean's, CTV, Globe and mail, CBC, Hilltimes, MSN.com, IPolitics and the Toronto Star, we might never even had heard he died.

If that is correct just nod lol First I go through the whole section and yes, make a list of the photoless names (together with the link) on a word doc. That's just for my reference. Then I work through them in order. Easiest way to keep track. The photos get saved in a folder in my documents until they're all done, then I just put all the photos into a zip file and send to Spade. No need to send links - Spade has already done that. All that's needed is to use the distinguishing part of the link to name each photo, as I showed earlier.
Joey Russ 7,226 Posted February 7, 2019 Hi Spade. Emily Levine’s birthday is October 23, 1944 according to this. Just mentioning it in case she somehow gets a Qualifying Obit for the DDP...
Sir Creep 7,070 Posted February 8, 2019 Lots of moaning up board, but the only people guaranteed not to QO are the living.
Sir Creep 7,070 Posted February 8, 2019 QO for John Dingell i got screwed out of a theme team solo hit by some rookie DDPer. Grrr https://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/ap/article-6681193/Former-Rep-Dingell-USs-longest-serving-lawmaker-dies.html

I have to remember that this is a British-centric forum, and 'famous' people from other countries have a bit of a higher bar to hurdle to QO. It's just a consideration I need to remember with my choices. My bad.

We're not even halfway through February and I already have two on the List of the Lost, Paul Dewar and my joker Tanya Gendle. That's what happens when you take a flyer on folks who are only marginal celebrities. At least I got Dewar on the Alt Obits.
