Pure idle curiosity on my part, but I was doing some research on 1 hit wonders The Toys.  They were formed in 1961 and had the one hit "A Lovers Concerto" in 1968.  What struck me is that all 3 members (according to Wiki) are still alive.  I've been trying to think of other groups from earlier who could feasibly reform with their original line up.  There can't be many.  image.png.9ff922db4d0af79a23eaa8fc394c6d44.png

Of course, you could idly scroll through the earlier posts on this thread and see which bands have their full line up still alive (that we know of).

The work is done on the thread, save you a headache. ;)

Manfred Mann is quite a notable one - their entire original lineup is still with us and yet they've never fully reformed.

Three FB posts one of which is from the "Liverpool and Merseyside area rock bands 1960s and 1970s" group. There's a comment to the effect that someone spoke to him  a couple of weeks ago and he wasn't well.

Updated, thanks.

Fun fact – he was the cousin of former Doctor Who Paul McGann!

Sorry to say that the linked video says that he did not play on that recording, although he's in the video.

It's a Joe Meek spectacular. I'd be amazed if any of them played on the recording in reality!

Certainly a member of the group, so at least a promotional member.

Brian and Michael.

First question is - did Kevin Parrot re-record the song with Mick Coleman, before it went out? Apparently not, so Brian Burke bogs off to settle down and I'm assuming gets a performer's royalty on a song he never promoted.

There's a ton of information on Mick Coleman though:

https://www.questmedianetwork.co.uk/news/tameside-reporter/nostalgia-chart-topping-lowry-tribute-in-1978/

https://www.tate.org.uk/art/artists/l-s-lowry-1533/lowry-painted-my-life-so-i-sang-about-his

https://www.messengernewspapers.co.uk/news/whereyoulive/10346658.brian-and-michael-make-their-return-in-urmston/

Most recently is this from April 2020: http://www.tamesidecorrespondent.co.uk/2020/04/17/musician-mick-coleman-puts-admiration-for-nhs-into-song-by-re-working-matchstalk-men-hit/

Now that says he is 74 and resident in Gee Cross. He has a daughter Tamlah, a wife Dheveranee and a brother Tim Coleman with whom he performs.

If that doesn't get you somewhere, there's no hope. I haven't looked into Kevin Parrott.

Remember our great debate on Kevin Parrott @Ulitzer95?

Someone's telling me he has died:

Updated for the death of Terry Cooper.

The 1970 England team now has just 7 survivors (there are 9 from the 1966 team).

Just a reminder that Bobby Charlton should be updated on this list. World Cup winner and pop star...

Reminded today that rock stalwart and occasional UK chart singer Maggie Bell just turned 79. Not noted as the healthiest living of singers and hung around with several people who've been dead a long time. Obitable as fuck, as and when:
