Paul Bearer 6,074 Posted July 17, 2020 Temporarily suspended. Below taken from the DHSC site. The secretary of State has today, 17 July, asked PHE to urgently review their estimation of daily death statistics. Currently the daily deaths measure counts all people who have tested positive for coronavirus and since died, with no cut-off between time of testing and date of death. There have been claims that the lack of cut-off may distort the current daily deaths number. We are therefore pausing the publication of the daily figure while this is resolved. Hopefully returning shortly.

Charlotte's Controller 195 Posted July 18, 2020 I have been wondering for a while why the Italian, Spanish and French numbers have been comparatively low compared to ours seeing as we were doing so well. Something was obviously not right but I believe this is not the only factor.

Paul Bearer 6,074 Posted July 18, 2020 Sunday 19 (again if the figures get released) . It looks like it might be a 5 way tie for this month unless the DHSC get their finger out and start reporting them again.

Charlotte's Controller 195 Posted July 19, 2020 17 hours ago, The Quim Reaper said: When was this? When the Trumptonesque (Dom, Dom, Boris and Crew) leadership said we were. The seven day UK moving average of deaths has been in the seventies to one hundred range whilst our European neighbours had been reporting single digits. With hindsight their evaluation was based on transmission rates and not on deaths and correctly so.
