Imelda 614 Posted May 4, 2020 With the sad passing on Tim Brooke-Taylor aged 79 (b. 17 July 1940) I think it's time that the Goodies have their own thread. The remaining members are; Graeme Garden (b.18 February 1943) Bill Oddie (b. 7 July 1941) Garden took a break from Sorry I Haven't A Clue a while back amid rumours of ill-health but seems to have returned in fairly good spirits. He's narrating the TBT tribute programme on Radio 4 just now and sounds pretty good for a 77 year old. Bill Oddie, however, sounded pretty awful; but maybe that's partly down to a terribble internet/phone connection?
YoungWillz 21,013 Posted May 4, 2020 Maybe the phone was just high up on the wall?
Sir Creep 7,070 Posted May 5, 2020 We need a new thread for two remaining people in an ensemble? Giving each their own thread was more sensible. Or none at all which 99.9% of all those visiting Deathlist to date had decided.
Bibliogryphon 9,565 Posted May 5, 2020 I have been concerned about Graham Garden for a while. When he has been on Radio 4 comedy shows he has sounded short of breath and subdued
Spade_Cooley 9,513 Posted May 5, 2020 Weird that the Goodies are probably going to die in the reverse order that you would have once predicted.

As I have remarked elsewhere, I never expected TBT to be the first to buy the farm.
Spade_Cooley 9,513 Posted May 5, 2020 You would have guessed Oddie, Garden, TBT as the death order five years ago.

Grande Pablo 109 Posted September 5, 2020 Bill Oddie has been Tweeting that he's not been well over the summer. Will be a long recovery. https://twitter.com/BillOddie/status/1302314713976655873?s=20

Deathrace 1,164 Posted September 5, 2020 Lithium is used to treat bipolar patients. Is that what Oddie has?

I used to be a big fan of Springwatch which he used to present and so did a lot of reading about him. I think that is why he quit the show as well, cos his mental health was not good. Edit - Ah no he got the sack and now he hates the BBC.
msc 18,421 Posted September 5, 2020 He's been quite open about the fact he's suffered from periods of extreme bipolar mental illness most of his life. Not in a look at me way either, just sort of matter of fact and "can I go back to look at owls again now?" way.

Oddie's made two suicide attempts according to the article linked two posts up
