MMMDP 2020

Recommended Posts

Ooh

DOUBLED the previous tally but at this rate we'll have a winner before we have a full field of entrants.

Also, one entry held up in pre-moderation, apparently - not summat there's a rule to deal with. The closest I can find is that to enter you have to post here so once the mods have cleared it...it's in

No reason at all - still five places - either this is a wave of complete apathy regarding obitable death or a conspiracy to avoid there being 20 entrants and make sure I can't - therefore - grab 21st place.

Tension mounts, or summat

I nearly didn't bother because I assumed there would be a flood of extremely obscure people at death's door, and since I don't know of anybody like that it didn't seem worth my while.  But at least I'm familiar with some of the entries.

Getting there - off for a lie down amid all this excitement - hopefully TWO more players will arrive before I scavenge the sad remains of the lowest of the low hanging fruits

Does anyone have a subscription to the Geelong Advertiser.

They've uploaded a new article about Glenn Keast's condition, but it's paywalled. They also seem about the only place that will deliver his obit.

OOhh, and I thought I was the one paying out for prizes.

You could - like - randomly ring a few of his relatives!

I never get into this pool because it’s start time is elusive.  Clearly says June 1.  Everyone entered 14+ hours ago.  June 1 only started 7 hours ago GMT.
Same will happen next year.

1 June, 24 hours after entries opened and we're still going, then

Standards are slipping in this premature ejaculator of dead pools, or summat

It's normally a midnight start, but mpfc decided to move it to 9am to make the pool easier to run.

Aye, you'll notice I remedied that very quickly

Still game on as far as I can see. Nobody dead, or owt. Bit disappointing really, I've always imagined the MMMDP winner as a dedicated sort crouched outside an intensive care unit with a phone in hand just ready to call it the second they hear a doctor say "time of death..."

So, Pat Dye would have been the one to pick... his hospitalisation was known, but nobody picked him.
