2 pointsMentioned by me in the Ideas and Possibilities for 2021 thread, and just discovered she died off radar thanks to a family tree published by Shirley Phelps on Ancestry; Margie Marie Phelps (née Simms b. 15 Sep 1925), who was the hunchback, often silent wife of hate monger Fred Phelps (1929–2014), died in Topeka, Kansas on 18th April 2020, aged 94. Unsurprisingly the family didn't release a statement or post a notice (they don't believe in "mourning" the dead in any way – according to them, it's a judgement of god and should be praised). Reunited at last.

1 pointWell one of them was an alcoholic with liver failure and the other two have/had Parkinson's disease, so given that MP's only major complaint was prostate cancer (which seems to be cured/under control), I wouldn't be surprised if he outlives Connolly too.

1 pointThere is an online article quoting her when she was 99 & recalling her sons' careers. The Margaret Everly who died in 1975 is obviously someone with the same name.

1 pointOne theory is that Jimmy Carter has lived longer (40+years) after leaving the presidency thatn any other ex-president in US history - which of course is less than 300 years according to the white extremists.

1 pointTrump won't even attend his own! Seriously, he will probably ban lots of people just as John McCann banned Trump but let Trump's daughter & son-in-law attend. Now the latter two are as bad almost as Trump.

1 pointA widow for over 80 years. There can hardly have been anyone in the world with a parent (logically a father) born so long ago as her husband, but a spouse to have had a partner born so long ago when one died in 2020 has to be a record breaker/creator?

1 pointKane Tanaka was born before Margaret Ann Neve died (b 18 May 1792) on 4 April 1903 aged 110 y 321 d. Margaret is regarded as the very first British super centenarian. A span between her & Kane that involves 4 different centuries.

1 pointApart from 3 very senior Archers actresses who are the only soap performers to be listed above William Roache on the site that lists longest performing 'soapstars', what about Leonard Fenton (94) who was the original doctor in Eastenders? William Russell (96) was not only in Coronation Street but also the first episode of Dr Who. Mark Eden who has just died was not only in Coronation Street but also the first series of Dr Who.

1 pointWhere are Norman Lloyd (105), Eileen Whelan (109), June Spencer (101), Clarissa Eden (100), Phillippe de Gaulle (99), Glynis Johns (97), William Russell (96), Walter Fawkes {Trog} (96), Robert Fyffe (95), John Woodcock (94), Doreen Mantle (94), Leonard Fenton (94), Joan le Mesurier (89)?

1 pointPhillippe de Gaulle is 99 today. Famous in his own right as well as being the only surviving child of the French WW2 leader.

1 pointRay Brooks voiced the Rupert Bear series on BBC1 in the late 80's. He famously said that the inane rhyming couplets & the repetitious format of the series meant he was as drunk as possible without slurring the words before each session in the recording studio.
-
1 pointWilliam Roache (who has said he feels he will live to 120 due to his lifestyle & postive energy) said on the 60th Anniversary of Coronation Street documentary that he hoped to be the first centenarian to appear on a soap; however he should have stated "TV soap" as June Spencer was on The Archers last night & she is aged 101.

1 pointFor many years while Desmond Morris was presenting Zootime, his namesake Johnny Morris (no relation) was presenting a similar programme on the only other UK channel called Animal Magic. Only one of the presenters resorted to animal impressions.

1 pointThere are many former spouses of famous actors still alive but not all are as well-known as others. Peter Gilmore (1931-2013) who played Captain James Onedin in all 91 episodes of The Onedin Line has all 3 former spouses still sailing serenely above ground. They are Jan Walters (b 1937), Una Stubbs (b 1937) & Anne Stallybrass (b1938). The latter played his wife in the show & they lived in Dartmouth where many of the location scenes were filmed in a house named "Charlotte Rhodes) which was the name of Onedin's ship in the series. Strangely she was killed off in the show in the early years of the series & the second wife was played by Jill Gascoigne who died a few months ago. John Thaw (1942-2002) (Morse, Mister Tom, Jack Regan etc) has both of his former spouses still alive. They are Sally Alexander (b 1943) & Sheila Hancock (b 1933). Jon Pertwee (1919-1996) (Dr Who, Worzel Gummage etc) also has both former wives alive. They are Jean Marsh (b 1936) & Ingeborg Rhoesa (b 1937).

1 pointHe missed 2 episodes of JAM in 2018 & 2 more last year. There seems to have been a much longer period between series of JAM than usual - in recent years there are 6 or 8 shows of JAM (recorded 2 at a time) and then a series of a different show lasting about 6 or 8 weeks then back to JAM. Additionally, on his 96th birthday (Oct 2019?) he was photographed between his wife & The Duchess of Cornwall in a wheelchair & it was also widely reported that due to a fall he was unable to particpate in a carol concert last December that his daughter has been involved in for many years and in which he reads a lesson.
