Jesse Jackson

Recommended Posts

Civil Rights leader and activist, Rev. Jesse Jackson (b. 1941) was diagnosed with parkinson's disease back in 2017. At a recent press appearance, many noted that the once spirited Jackson appeared to physically struggle as he issued a statement on the Derek Chauvin trial.

Consciously, I heard of him the first time in my english school book, 5th grade or something, as "the first notable African-American candidate for president".

He came up in school as one of the living civil rights activists from the 50s/60s.

Has Parkinson’s disease (since at least 2017) and turns 80 in October.

Surely he’s a goner?

Depends. Having had the vaccine he might get enough protection from it to survive a hospitalisation.

Ah ok, didn’t realise he had the vaccine. I just presumed he didn’t as most hospitalised with COVID haven’t!

His wife is unvaccinated?  Interesting.  Wonder what the preexisting condition could be.  In any case, it sounds like they made an informed decision about it.

If he got the virus from his wife and he ends up dying from it, that really should be worth bonus points in pools!  But it does seem like he'll be OK.

Jesse discharged, his wife in ICU.

But let's continue to pretend vaccines don't work.

Not dead but CNBC did publish a premature obituary last week.

He's 81. The media may know something we don't?

He made a twitter post 11 hours ago and seems to be doing well, so I don't think so.

He has looked like that for a while. There's no sign of further decline.
