theoldlady 2,303 Posted October 28, 2022 Jerry Lee Lewis is hit number 2 here. R.I.P. Jerry. (Passed 28. October 2022) @GuyFromFuture @Summer in Transylvania (Have always wondered how they got his song: Great Balls of Fire through the Sensors of the 1950s.) 2
theoldlady 2,303 Posted November 8, 2022 I believe Leslie Phillips in the 3rd Death here (I am not familiar with some of the lesser known names here though.). He passed on the 7th of November. R.I.P. Mr. Phillips. @GuyFromFuture @Summer in Transylvania 4
theoldlady 2,303 Posted November 14, 2022 I believe that Vicky Phelan is the 4th Death here. R.I.P. MS Phelan. She passed away November 14th. @GuyFromFuture @Summer in TransylvaniaWe are at the half-way point. Please update the score board. Thank you. 2
Summer in Transylvania 2,187 Posted January 3, 2023 In the whirlwind of the last few days of 2022, which saw us lose Pope Benedict, Don West, Barbara Walters, and Vivienne Westwood, we entirely forgot that Pelé, another casualty of that final week (or, as the Committee put it, "the 90th minute") was also picked here (by Funeralopolis). He is the 5th of the 8 deaths needed to crown a winner, and with Lord Field seemingly on the way out we could soon see this pool draw to a close. I will update my post tomorrow and cross his name off of the masterlist. Please let me know if I have missed any hits.
theoldlady 2,303 Posted January 4, 2023 @Summer in Transylvania A new hit here with the death of Fay Weldon entered by @Sean. This will be the 6th one on this list.
Summer in Transylvania 2,187 Posted March 9, 2023 We are now just one step away from the finish line, with Topol becoming our seventh of eight hits, eliminating @Charles De Gaulle. With pick's @Nick Jimmy Carter lingering on in a hospice, I reckon we could soon see a winner be crowned. The masterlist will be updated shortly. Once again, please let me know if I have missed any hits.
Perhaps 1,423 Posted March 9, 2023 Fun little pool, shame the creator abandoned it. Would be nice to see it return once a winner is crowned.

Summer in Transylvania 2,187 Posted May 17, 2023 Well, after nine and a half months, in which time the original gamerunner seemingly abandoned the pool, which led to me assuming the mantle of unofficial host, we finally (and belatedly) have a winner. Please join me in congratulating @WEP, winner of the first Crazy Eight Dead Pool! Their pick, Jenny Oldfield, passed away on 18th April, but it has only just come to my attention, a little under a month later. I'll update the masterlist shortly. Once again, congratulations WEP!

I was almost sure there was a QO for her, but upon another peruse of the Internet apparently not. Sorry, WEP, but it looks like Oldfield is still pending an obit, and therefore your win is no longer valid. Perhaps 1,423 Posted May 17, 2023 Who is this woman and why is she famous? Is she the author Jenny Oldfield or some random FFBI pick?
Summer in Transylvania 2,187 Posted June 13, 2023 Take two. After eleven months, in which time the game creator abandoned the pool and left me to take over as unofficial host, we finally have a proper winner (with a QO this time). Congratulations @MortalCaso, the winner of the first Crazy Eight Deadpool! Their pick, Unabomber Ted Kaczynski, died on 10th June 2023, having committed suicide in his cell. My condolences to WEP, whose pick Jenny Oldfield didn't obit in time to win. Once again, please let me know if I have missed any hits. 1

Thank you for hosting @Summer in Transylvania, I hope you will start a new game soon. ,My condolences @WEP Kinda shocking out of all those names, a suicide determined a winner. 3
