It's not a comment on hot love particularly, in fact I'd rather hear it than tears of a clown, band of gold or even bridge over troubled water (some of that through overplay of those). But with -6 +4 once something starts circling the drain it's going to go. It's been pushed down that far and like a black hole by this point it's over the event horizon. If you start trying to drag it back, you're just prolonging the whole thing and we need to move on.

Of course this is why the scoring is +4 -6 in the first place.

Hot Love's fatal flaw (technically known as a Hey Jude-ism) is that the last three minutes of its excessive 5 is that bloody la-la oh-oh refrain ad infinitum, like a Wurlitzer ride you wish would fucking end before you puke. Get It On's flaw, not of its own making, is that it begat Cigarettes and Alcohol by those clodhopping clowns from Manchester.
