Huw Edwards

Recommended Posts

Well, you asked for it and here it is.

Huw Edwards newsreader suffers from depression and looks a bit podgy, a possible suicide in the making or he’ll beat this depression?

Nobody ‘beats’ depression, but hopefully he’ll be able to deal with it. As people have said, it’s his private life (so come on baby, leave it out).

And spare a thought for his colleagues Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble and Grubb, whose team are a man down while Huw serves his suspension.

Rumours on other forums that he has looked himself in his bedroom and is refusing to speak to anyone,  No source given for those rumours.

It's Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, not Huw, Pugh ...

I didn't know "depression" meant an alleged interest in young men. I thought it was feeling low and shit?

Now you can safely move all the Presenters posts into this thread, Mr Bearer. Ain’t it great being an admin?

It’s odd to see the professed shock from colleagues and media types. Don’t they read the Super Soaraway Deathlist?!

Send any medical bills to Rupert Murdoch and sue The Sun.

Not that I think what he has allegedly done is particularly weird/shameful, but clinical depression can make you act in strange ways that you barely recognise/comprehend once you’re ‘better’, believe me. I won’t bore you with details, but maybe a tabloid can look into it when they have time. Suffice to say, I was subcontracted by the BBC at the time.

I doubt very much he’s ‘playing the card’; the past week’s events would have sent the most levelheaded to the funny farm.

I feel sympathy for the ‘young person’ and their family too, but they should probably have given the Sun a wide berth.

Part of me wishes they had offended the whole country with the Hillsborough stuff, as maybe then a nationwide boycott would have sent them packing much earlier.

His wife's statement noted he'd had a significant mental health episode - my media-related mates have noted that means a little more than just going to the physc ward, at least in media-language.

Hell yeah, like posing a significant threat to the life of self or others - not noted anyone accusing Huw of trying to kill them over the last few days (and fuck knows, there'd have been serious money in it for anyone with evidence of that), so we can usefully assume he's being watched today for longer than the nation usually keeps tabs on him purely with the intention of preventing him creating more bad news.

If either of those who'd encountered him online then shared their stories find their names  in the public domain be interesting to see how well their mental health holds up.
