TJS finally gets a US President hit, my last big DDP goal. Even if it doesn't mean that much when everyone picked him.

Ahem!

I assume you mean everyone who matters!

That's going to push my fairly successful team even lower, I believe. And yes, I picked him for 2025, so that's that ruined as well.

Just noticed that my theme team Windsor's OBE doesn't seem to appear on the Theme Team League Scoreboard.

It has 37 points and should be in joint 20th place.

So, the leaderboard is extreamly tight just 48 hours before the end of this calendar year. I opened my laptop after Jimmy Carter death news first time over a month and decided to take a brief overview of the standings and pick out names for teams who needs or could die for them to win. As for the leader, who didn't pick Carter, the points melted with other competitors. However he still doesn't need anyone else to die or may be happy with the death of his remaining 8 names. Death of Burrell would steal the win from him as it is a joker for another team 10 points shy of the leader. Total of 11 different teams could still get the win with a single hit!

1. It's A Grim World After All - 122p (No more deaths needed to win, 8 options)

  • Theo Burrell (potential addition of 13 points) his death would drop him down to second place

I know  Deadline isn't a qualifying obituary  but Linda Lavins death is going to likely  mean  the DDP now just needs 1 'hit' to at least equalise.

I'm coming up again with the third iteration of the Last bandmember alive list. I had some notable misses this year.

- Henry Lee Famborough - The Spinners

- Dennis Thompson - MC5

- Doug Ingle - Iron Butterfly

These bands now join other extinct bands like:

- Motörhead

- Jimmi Hendrix Experience

- Viola Beach

- Canned Heat

- Ramones

- Buddy Holly & The Crickets

-  Moody Blues

- Gerry & The Pacemakers

Special mention for Blood Sweat & Tears. cause they are the almost polar opposite of the list.

No original member left in the band while still touring but all  7 of the 8 original members are still alive!

Also Manfred Mann and the Hollies are mostly complete.

There was a Daily Mail article about his cancer last year and there is still plenty of time for them to write one about his death.

I thought Fito de La Parra was still alive from Canned Heat.

The biggest surprise of a band completely in tact is Black Sabbath, at least with their classic lineup. Surely one of them would’ve died by now but no they’re all still here.

Sabbath have a few years head start (and are my favourites here) but somehow the main Aerosmith line up are all still going too.

I thought so myself but it turns out he was their second drummer. First drummer was Frank Cook who died in 2021.

Aerosmith are officially deceased as a band. Come to think of it, so is Black Sabbath. No more making music or touring. But who knows, the Eagles also finished their career. But they were lured into a Las Vegas residence at the Sphere with at least 17 shows in 2025 with prizes as low as $190,- Yaay......

BTW; Ozzie is the longest survivor. He was noted in the inaugural 1987 list. That's 38 years ago....
