Johnnie Walker a Unique hit this year. I wonder how many teams he would have been on next year.

My Daughters team had him, She's gutted he wasn't the record breaking hit. Close though.

Hasn't this happened before? A dead cert for the Drop 40 carking it just as we get to the bells with one team bagging the points?

Right, looks like my teams are done. And unsurprisingly they haven't done well!

Dying Probably’s Twitter Page - 0 points (well... an expected shit result. Equalled #142 in TTL, Equalled #472 in DDP)

OAPs - 25 points (honestly, what was I drinking when I made this team?! I got lucky with Inhofe but... Collins? Gosar? Trump? A better result than it deserved. Equalled #85 in TTL, equalled 288 in DDP)

Ah, the ol' team - 36 points (annoying that Manolic didn't QO, only getting an obit in the Washington Post. otherwise a team plagued by a lot of hold-ons like Saint, Scales, DVD, Marsh Doll. worst picks probably Russell (recovered from cancer pretty well) and Wexton (too early to be good, but inevitably a staple in my future teams). looks like plenty of these will go in 2025 or shortly after. Equalled #229 in DDP)

I decided to look at all the teams that scored 0 (wooden spoon) including my theme team Rolls Off The Tongue. I would say the unluckiest of these teams was I Couldn’t Eat Another Bite. They had a pretty good list of 20.

Assuming no more QOs in the next wee while I am please with a very respectable joint 21st position.

Onwards and upwards and here is to doing a wee bit better in 2025

Thanks to all the organisers.

Had a well-earned lazy morning today. Now it's time for deadpool wrapping up. Just added Ida Reams and Antero Laukkannen to the LotL. Are there any other names that should be on either the List of the Lost or Missed?

Barbara Leigh Hunt is one for List of the Missed. Sugar Pie De Santo had picked my me in the past but doesn't seem to have a QO so don't know if she counts as Lost or Missed?

If they die and aren't a DDP pick, they're List of the Missed regardless of obit status. Cheers, updated both, I had actually mistakenly listed Leigh-Hunt in the "those we never picked" section on my year in review funny enough.

John Capodice was a 2024 DDP pick, does he still count as a hit? https://metro.co.uk/2025/01/02/ace-ventura-general-hospital-actor-john-capodice-dies-83-22280555/

I'd have thought so. There is a very small period of grace for late obits, afaik.

He died 30 December so points may be harvested.

No. A QO would've needed to arrive on New Year's Day at the latest for him to count.

That is when all of the major "news" agencies are short staffed and only put out the MAJOR stories (and shit about The Traitors and who is shagging who) leaving other news till ATER the holidays.

I think is why for 2026 the rules should move the end till a few days later. At least give one full office working day for obits.

Agreed

January 3rd should be OK for QOs, SO LONG AS THE PERSON ACTUALLY DIED IN THE PREVIOUS YEAR.

Well done to It's A Grim World After All

And that's a wrap on the 2024 DDP.

Congrats to Thatcher!

Thank you for the great review of the year - and congratulations to Thatcher as the winner of the DDP!
