I read that initially as being able to vote every 8 hours but I see where you are coming from now.  I would accept that rule as I normally try to vote around the same time each day

I think, then, the best compromise is probably to disallow consecutive votes, rather than installing a minimum time period between them. So you can vote twice in a short space of time, but there must be at least another vote or two before you can again.

This is a better solution IMO. I've voted either side of midnight a couple of times, usually for convenience, sometimes for impact. I think it's part of the tactics of the game to try and work out when your votes can be most useful. I may hold off voting in case something is close to being eliminated in order to get rid once it loses a couple more points, or I might try and set a few up to fall like the other day. On other occasions, I've no option but to vote quickly because songs I like may be kicked out otherwise. Sometimes it works, often it doesn't, but that's all part of the game for me.
