Aaaand STOP! For one brief moment, my birth year Christmas No.1 was in with a real shout. Ah well. That would’ve been far too exciting an outcome, I guess. The Beatles pip it to join Queen and the rest of the qualifiers in the final.

 

Anyway…the grand final is set. Our 12 qualifiers from our 2024 Christmas Special now face off in this mishmash of festive tunes…oh, and, who’s this?? The ghosts of Christmas have visited, bringing with them the incredibly tight podium finishers from last year at the point they were all tied! How will these Christmas anthems fare against the top carols and No.1s? Time to find out!

 

For now, scoring is back to the normal +4, -6 and there is no Kill Quota, but look, we want this game finished before the big day, right? If that looks like it might be a problem, we'll take measures.

Whamaggedon avoided for me thus far this year, but I hold no real hopes of making it all the way - I've been punched in the gut in Tesco's late on before and notably in 2021 by the radio of some guys installing double glazing.
