Canadian Paul 97 Posted February 4, 2006 On my Orientation Day at my University, I remember someone said "we're all nerds here," and just everything that that statement represented to me has stuck with me during my entire tenure. The point I'm getting at it is that it might be fair to say that we're all a little strange here, but there's nothing wrong with that. We're in good company. Tomb raider 9 Posted February 4, 2006 picked the info up from CSI. I'm only a nutjob on days that end with a 'y' Well, that makes you pretty sane all week, as in dutch no day of the week ends in 'y'.

Star Crossed 33 Posted February 7, 2006 (edited) Star Crossed, I hope you get terminal cancer. Congratulations Mr. Carter, you got a rise out of me. Consider this the rise. As far as I'm able to calculate, John's rant scores as follows on the DL Rant Index: (Content #7. The post states or infers a wish of a painful or imminent death on the members of DeathList.net. check) (1/25)*100 = 4 Is this the worst rant ever? I'm equal-parts proud/ashamed to be the subject of it. p.s. I realise the hypocrisy of my own rant in the Dickie O' thread about relevant content, so here's some trivia about Charlton Heston... 1) His birth name was John Charles Carter (not the John Charles Carter of DL micro-rant fame, surely?) 2) He and his wife, Lydia, both battled cancer recently. He battled prostate cancer and she battled breast cancer. Now both are in remission. 3) He's 6'3" tall. 4) In 1954, he made 2 movies; 'Bad For Each Other' and 'Secret Of The Incas'. Life Begins at 5 o'clock 7 Posted February 24, 2006 Any word on Heston? He was quite sick last year, but things have quieted down for him considerably.
Windsor 2,233 Posted February 24, 2006 LBA5oC - The deathlist forum does not here to answer trivial questions. If there was any news on his health it would have been posted. Going with the usual quote for this - ''Deathlist is not google''.

Harvester Of Souls 40 Posted February 25, 2006 Dearly Beloved Death-List Comrades... This is my second posting to the Charlton Heston thread and I was wondering "What Are The Thoughts, Of Our Panel Of Experts, On Charlton Heston?" "How Do We View Him And His Life's Work?" ( In The true style of Ben Hur or ) I've read little bits over the last few pages and I can see veiled, polarised, opinions but is there any contributor willing to go on record and prepare CH a eulogy whilst he approaches his 81st birthday? He seems to attract awe from our -Guest- ranters but an equal amount of distaste from out regular DL members. Are the comments, directed at CH, a product of his NRA presidency and battle against Alzheimer's? If so why are they so polarised? Good day

He seems to attract awe from our -Guest- ranters but an equal amount of distaste from out regular DL members. Are the comments, directed at CH, a product of his NRA presidency and battle against Alzheimer's? If so why are they so polarised? Roquefort Quince Chesterton Matilda Hesterton was born the product of a bourbon induced evening of rampant and wild sexcapades in October of the year of 19 and 24 to a loving Protestant familyliving int Evanston Illinois and which soon be came involved, embrioled even in a wild and wacky moonshining war and subserquently divorce of his mummsy and daddy. Soon He changed his name to Charles Hestone but qith great ambitions of one day being President of the Sambucca Swillers Associaton (that's Ass. backwards) and even a pornography pioneer (he wanted to play Daniel Boone in the blue version of Boone's life) he knwe a name change was in order. Mecy showed upon him as his mummsy remarried a straight shooter who became Chuck's stepdaddy and with whom young Chuck spent many a wild hourt playing strip poker, mah-jong and crazy-eights while waiting for birds to fly above them during duck season so they could start to shooting at their prey and in nthe process bring home food for Chucks mummsy to cook for their dinner. One day while sitting in the rowboat listening for ducks to approachg Chuckie asked his stepdaddy what name he should use for a carreer in film. Thinking nothing of it his step daddy wrapped his big beefy arm around young Chuck and said "son...and odds are you really are my son, even though I never had relations wiht that woman known as your mummsy until I had married her.....I thgink a good name for you would be Charlton Heston. At first I was thinking along the lines of Judah Ben Moses but that might look weird on the marquee" And so Charlton Heston became a man that day out on Lake Plankton while slurping viles of Soylent blue. Eventually Heston grew up, got married, had children, found his calling in weaponry and basket weaving and even served as a Seargeant in the Army during the World War2. He has 2 acknowledged children, omjne who may be adopted, and had a stunt double to do nthe nude scenes in Planet of The Apes for him since he felt it was wrong to appear in a film based on a French novelists book naked. A little known fact is that during his seemoing hiatus from film, Chesterton Hesterton was being billed on marquees in the 42nd street area of New York as Charlton Easton and appeared briefly in a scene from Debbie Does Dallas (he was on the television screen in the background). In recent years, less filmwork caused Mr.Heston to start mind wandering and eventually he was diagnosed with the actors disease known as Alzheimers Disease which took down many a man before him including Edwad Asner and Ronald Reagan among others. At the time of his death he was working on a new line of toys fashioned after his many films including El Cid and that Airport movie. Rest in Peace Charlie boy, rest in peace,
Tempus Fugit 214 Posted February 25, 2006 An inspired eulogy Mr. Brimley, it's amazing to what heights alcohol can take the creative process. When the time comes for Chuck, you should submit that piece of writing to the Telegraph newspaper, they'd be fools not to use it.

Godot 149 Posted February 27, 2006 Glad you thought to mention Soylent Green BB. Have no wish to hasten Chas's death, he's not on any of my lists, but it's probabaly the only way I'll get to see a re-run of SG which I think was his best film, possibly because his performance was overshadowed by that of Edward G Robinson. I still think it was a film before it's time and that we'll all end up as Soylent Green one day. In your case BB it might be something of an alco-pop. Cup of Tea 3 Posted February 27, 2006 In the last few days of 2005, everybody was flapping about On about wether Heston will make it to be on the 2006 list and almost 3 months in.... still no death. ???? So whats the story did he just recover?

So whats the story did he just recover? In the last 3 days, two well-known actors have died at age 81 (same age Heston is now, Don Knotts and Dennis Weaver). The old saying is that it comes in threes. I wonder if Heston will be the third.
