Discounting those who keep very busy working (ie Tennant, Jones, Shaw) the obvious one to keep an eye on here is Michael Gambon, who was having memory issues pre-pandemic (he retired from the stage due to them). Julie Walters has cut her career down significantly since cancer. Warwick Davis was looking unwell at the tail end of his Tenable run and we know the rumours there.

Not named (unless I missed her) is Zoe Wannamaker, who almost certainly wont show up as she had an almighty argument with the producers and quit the series after one film, hence why the games mistress disappears from the films.

Julie Walters pulls out of a project with severe back pain. One to watch.

The new Equity magazine appears to be out, however not on the Equity website as yet.

Anyway, Hadoke reports the deaths of Jim McManus (IMDB) and Richard Kane, both of whom are only mentioned here. Derek Smith mentioned the Detective thread as dead also appears to be confirmed dead:

Cross-posting news of the death of Jim McManus, who played Aberforth Dumbledore (credited as Barman) in The Order of the Phoenix.

Does anyone have a guess as to if actress Matyelok Gibbs (IMDb) is still alive, if so how old she would be?

I can't find a birthdate but given the picture below she should be at least mid-70's, however I wasn't able to find when it was taken which means she might be quite a bit older.

image.png.12969eba1995cadafd526e756cec5bf6.png

Her first acting credit on IMDb seems to be an episode of Vision On in 1964, however her second credit is given in 1981 so the first date might be wrong? She later on appeared in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt. 1 (2010) as Auntie Muriel and in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011) as Mrs Pope Graham; with no acting credits found after 2014.

She was 91.

Thanks. One of those cases I thought about from time to time, never finding anything major about her. She's the first actor who portrayed a member of the Weasley family, to pass away.

Watching the new Tenable series.

Warwick Davis has lost his slowness and is looking a lot better. Still a lack of smiling at the end of his puns, and still a bit starey. Didn't he do some Willow TV series recently?

Anyway, he might not trouble us for a while, imo.

Although he was much much more than his role here, obviously mentioning Michael Gambon's death. https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/tv/michael-gambon-dead-dumbledore-harry-potter-actor-b2420247.html

This "Harry Potter" Theory About Dumbledore's Role In "Deathly Hallows" Is Blowing Minds

God so sad, he was a great actor also in other films: Judy, The King Speech, Victoria and Abdul, Being Julia

And also the voice of Uncle Pastuzo in live action Paddington and Franklin Bean the antagonist farmer in Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009)

Warwick Davis' wife, Sammy, who was also an actress herself, has died, aged just 53.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-68839035

EDIT She was also the daughter of another dwarf actor, Peter Burroughs.

Samantha Davis played a Gringotts Goblin in The Deathly Hallows Part 2.

I'm assuming one of those briefly appearing who were counting the money and later didn't survive the dragon's escape from Gringotts.

I wouldn't have said there was a 23 year difference in those two pictures!

Suggested he might be intended to be Silvanus Kettleburn, Care Of Magical Creatures professor who retired to spend more time with his remaining limbs. https://harrypotter.fandom.com/wiki/Silvanus_Kettleburn

Hagrid and Grubbly-Plank his successors. ;)

He appears too old (and in too good of condition), to match the description from the books, oddly.

In the Columbus films especially I believe a lot of people who were cast as unidentified characters just to pad out scenes were retroactively 'linked' with a character from the books at some point during production, but they weren't actually supposed to be playing anyone in particular, just "sit there, look wizardy."
