VSBfromH 74 Posted August 9, 2010 Jack Parnell The jazz drummer, TV theme-tune writer and bandleader, who was musical director for "The Muppet Show" has died aged 87. Today's fact from Wikipedia: Parnell's son Ric, also a drummer, played the part of Mick Shrimpton in "This is Spinal Tap". Shrimpton was one of the numerous former "Tap" drummers who met various untimely deaths, in his case an on-stage explosion during their Japanese tour.
