Typhoid Harry 23 Posted August 4, 2005 I'm begining to wonder if you have ever watched"How The Grinch Stole Christmas" Then maybe you will think just a bit differently. What? You've never seen a photo of me?
Josco 49 Posted August 4, 2005 I'm begining to wonder if you have ever watched"How The Grinch Stole Christmas" Then maybe you will think just a bit differently. Dragged to see this film by the junior Joscos. 90 minutes of my life dribbled away. What a waste of good celluloid.
honez 79 Posted August 4, 2005 Dragged to see this film by the junior Joscos. 90 minutes of my life dribbled away. What a waste of good celluloid. Ah, yes, but a valuable ninety minutes of sitting inactive on a comfy chair to add to your good cellulite.
VileBody 11 Posted August 4, 2005 Perhaps you should go away more often? You beat me to the joke I see but then again, Edward Heath and James Doohan died while I was away. Same for me - maybe some "good" luck next week?
Paul Bearer 6,102 Posted August 4, 2005 Curses, no-one died when I was away. Well, no-one really famous
football_fan 42 Posted September 4, 2005 Perhaps you should go away more often? You beat me to the joke I see but then again, Edward Heath and James Doohan died while I was away. Maybe all DL members should start going on vacation once a year religiously. If I am not mistaken IYG, you were also away when Gretchen Franklin also died and now William Rehnquist makes it four. Now it seems to be more than a coincidence. I agree with what Banshees said, you guys should go away more often. Regards, ff
Guest IYG Posted September 5, 2005 Sorry but I'm staying, no more vacations for me till maybe December.
IKYWN 6 Posted September 6, 2005 I'm going away for a week next week. When I was away in August the uncanny ability of celebrities to curl up their toes produced three deaths. Mo Mowlem, Bill Moog and Jack Slipper all took advantage of the situation and joined the choir invisible. I urge all celebrities to look to the next week as an opportunity to see how good your pre-prepared obituries are. If you're feeling a bit peaky, now is the time to consider a wooden overcoat and to take up an occupation as a daisy pusher. And no dieing before I go, that cheating! My tips for the next week: Ronnie Biggs, my favourite Pete Doherty and an outside bet on Valerie Singleton.
VileBody 11 Posted September 6, 2005 Other good weeks would be around mid-October when I'm in Oz - produced a fine crop on holidays this summer including Heath, Doohan and Gretchen Franklin. My picks for the period would be: Biggsy, Ford and Wiesenthal. Kylie as an outsider...
football_fan 42 Posted September 6, 2005 (edited) There is already a "Going on Holiday" thread started by yourself right here. [ Mods, please merge ] [ Done -- MH ] Edited September 6, 2005 by Magere Hein
IKYWN 6 Posted September 6, 2005 Yes, but that's a different holiday. Perhaps there ought to be a calender of when members go on holiday so we can look back and see if there is any correlation between vacations and a rise in celebrity deaths.
Handrejka 1,904 Posted May 16, 2006 With all the discussion of what has happened to certain absent members I thought it migt be a good idea to let people here know when we're going away for whatever reason. I'll be absent from the forum between 22nd May and 4th June [Merged with previous Holiday Thread - ff]

Bennett_Cerf 2 Posted May 20, 2006 Having just joined this lovely forum, I fail to see why I would be leaving on a vacation so soon; however, it is good to see there is a contingency plan in place for those absent times. Yet another marvelous feature of this forum.
