Deathray 2,940 Posted February 4, 2016 So February the next twenty years boding to be as crapulous as January for the music world. I've explained this theory before and we'll see how it pans out but I'll call it the post-war effect. Someone born in 1935 is now 81-82 1939 is now 76-77, someone born in 1945 is now 70-71, someone born in 1940 is 65-66. A lot of people from these cohorts will have been underfed as kids (thank rationing well into the 50s). A lot of the 1935 cohort have outlived expectations so are on the way. The kids who grew up during the war and became famous in the 60s are likely to have destroyed their bodies. And then due to radio, film and television really taking off in the 60-70s we have many many more celebs at both ends of this age range to choose from. This perfect storm means for the next few decades X of band/film franchise/tv show has died will be a bi-weekly occurrence - X almost always being a household name or part of a household name.. If it works... You're already behind the times if you didn't search crowdfunding pages. But all they do is tell you who has the big C. And even then you gotta go deep into your search to find em all. I never saw anything for Vanity for example. Doesn't mean your pick those people. I Never saw Haggerty as a dead man, that was a shocker and I'm guessing a pleasant shocker to even Cooley. Anyway, I'm glad you had this epiphany. SirC

I didn't go, but watched a live stream and was pleased I hadn't missed much. Friends there said they were awful, as did most of the regulars on FB etc. They had no rapport with the audience whatsoever.

I saw the highlights of it, they just came out, sang their hits and that was it. There were other artists/bands that performed thart were known for only 1 or 2 songs that had more of a connection with the crowd and for them it was the biggest moment of their lives since their popularity waned.
