msc 18,437 Posted January 7, 2017 Christy Dignam still totally dying, honest. He'll still be on about a dozen teams at least due to a certain side having him in 2015.

YoungWillz 21,028 Posted January 11, 2017 For the uninitiated: The Winter dance party of 1959 was a gruelling 24-day tour around the Midwest by a bunch of artists. The crash of Holly, Valence and the Big Bopper happened after the 11th day of the tour, know today as the day the music died. All those who played there are dead, including the music apparently, apart from Dion. The dead; - Buddy Holly - Richie Valence - the Big Bopper - The Music Musicians who played and are no longer there; - Waylon Jennings (crickets) - Carl Bunch (Crickets) - Frankie Sardo EDIT: Jennings and Bunch were not in the Crickets, they were recruited to be Holly 's backing. Furthermore backing musician Tommy Allsup is still alive, the one who cheated death by losing a coin toss with Valence. Tommy Allsup in ICU. No word on if the Reaper's flipping a coin to decide whether to take him now or later. Sooner, I believe he's dead. Looking for a link. There ya go: http://lubbockonline.com/entertainment/2017-01-11/tommy-allsup-guitarist-who-toured-buddy-holly-dies

Both the same kind of gay 80s pop? (and I use the word gay here in the "homosexual" sense rather than any other sense)

So he's another 2016 casualty. Indeed, I did notice that. Edit: Forgot to mention I used to see Steve Bronski out and about in Glasgow quite often round the mid-80s. Was in a club in London with Jimmy as well a wee bit later, (or Jimi as he was sometimes called then). Sadly, I never actually met Larry. I'm saddened by his loss and saddened that it wasn't made public sooner. Lovely guy by all accounts.

Spade_Cooley 9,515 Posted January 16, 2017 Bill Price, co-producer of "Never Mind The Bollocks..." and deck-helmer for The Clash, Guns N Roses, Sparks and a whole other bunch of bands, dead at 72. My browser tells me that I'd clicked his Wikipedia entry at some point in the past few months, so either I had researched him as a possible 2017 pick and forgotten about it, or I'm developing early-stage dementia.
