Dead Pop Stars

She's 82, presumably another ad for autotune?

Why can't geriatric "pop stars" retire gracefully?

They're worth millions so it must be vanity and narcissism.

They aren't worth as much as you think. A lot of that money gets burned by family, lawyers, taxes, etc.

I was watching her at Glastonbury earlier, looked dire and sounded dreadful. Wouldn't be surprised if retirement was on the horizon.

How is the 83-year-old who had double-negative breast cancer still the only one of them that can hold a tune?

Mo Foster, widely respected session bassist who has toured with some of the greats and played on their records, being reported dead: https://twitter.com/dmepst/status/1675832746285965315

Various film soundtracks such as For Your Eyes Only and Revenge Of The Pink Panther. However, he's always going to be remembered for the theme from Minder:

Apparently also co-wrote the UK hit Chalk Dust - The Umpire Strikes Back for Roger Kitter (The Brat).

Also, he appears to have been banned from Wikipedia for using sockpuppets to edit his own page

Martin Stevens, whose version of 'Love is in the Air' was recorded and released simultaneous to that of the better-known John Paul Young offering, has died. He was 69. Both versions charted in Canada, but galvanized each other's support.

Ray Dorset (Mungo Jerry) made another appearance on The Heritage Charts to introduce a version of Alright Alright Alright.

Looked and sounded very good, appears to have put his heart issues behind him for now..

Suzi Quatro also showed up looking exactly like how you'd expect a 73 year old Suzi Quatro to look. Her voice is a bit gone but she can still hit notes I blatantly never could.

Mungo Jerry's official website has no forthcoming gigs, putting it down to "developing nature of the COVID-19 pandemic", either their live work is well on the back burner or they know summat the rest of us don't!

Chicago house mainstay DJ Deeon is dead. Was picked in the DL Cup last year due to ongoing health issues, but considering his charge sheet he could have been picked anywhere:

Quote

Since 2002, he had undergone treatment for stage 4 Hodgkins lymphoma, diabetes, a series of mini strokes, and a serious accident that ultimately led to the amputation of his lower left leg.

Jimmy Buffett hospitalised again for something that needed "immediate attention":

Edit: Yes, yes, yes, the Google news date fooled me. It's the previous one.
