-          1939: John Sheahan (Dubliners)
*snip*

Seems to have been misinformation flying around Facebook the other day that John Sheahan (wiki) had died. Careless whispers or another one away to kick the bucket? Difficult to judge, but the last performance of his I can find was over 12 months ago now. Yes, he's 84 but Sheahan was incredibly active and never seemed to stop making appearances/performing.

Worth keeping an eye on...

The last of The Dubliners from any of their iconic 1960s lineups. Expect QOs aplenty.

Another DDP pick.

Think he was a former pick of mine - not the greatest health the past few iirc.

Great. A new name for my theme list next year. Gary Roslington did not die in vain.

He might be a bastard, he did write gems like the Weight and this one.

The oldest snapper in town. As a reference point, RR was like a cross between Barry Manilow and both of Sparks, ok?

I read his autobiography but I don’t remember being particularly impressed or unimpressed.

Go and watch The Last Waltz the last concert by The Band.

One of the greatest concert films ever made.  It was directed by Martin Scorsese

You’re my age I believe, thereabouts.  You left ‘young whippersnapper’ behind 25 years ago.

One of these things - a voodoo amulet believed to protect the wearer...etc. Though the darkly jazzy piano player/singer Dr. John also used the name for an album title.
