The St. Louis Billikens assistant coach Ford Stuen passed away at 29 years old earlier this morning.

Late in the 2020-21 season, Stuen complained about a pain in his abdominal area. Soon after this pain came about, the rising-star assistant was diagnosed with a severe infection and was unable to recover — despite undergoing antibiotic treatments and a medically-induced coma. He was reportedly in the hospital since Apr. 4.

Former Jazz legend and one of the NBA's greatest shot blockers, Mark Eaton, has died at 64. COD not immediately reported.

Sheriff's office said he crashed his bicycle this morning and later died in a Utah hospital. No other vehicle involved apparently. After Shawn Bradley sustained life changing injuries also cycling in Utah it may be prudent for any 7ft+ Caucasian ex-NBA players to forgo any such activity!

Damn this one hits home.  My dad had season tickets to U-D basketball and Terry Duerod was probably my favourite player.  He turned out to be a champ and a great role model.

Former NBA guard Terry Duerod died Friday morning at the age of 64.  He quietly battled leukemia for the past seven months, and was in hospice care for the last week.

A 6’2″ guard, Duerod played college basketball under Dick Vitale at the University of Detroit. In four seasons at Detroit, Duerod scored 1,690 points, averaging 23.3 points per game during his senior season.

Duerod spent 4 seasons in the NBA, and won the NBA title in 1980-1981 with the Boston Celtics.

After his NBA career was over, Duerod transitioned to a new, nearly three-decade-long career as a firefighter in the city of Detroit.

RIP

Dick Vitale himself now has two forms of cancer: melanoma and lymphoma. Both diagnosed within the last few months.

HoFer Sam Jones dead at 88, almost exactly one year after his teammate K.C. Jones.

Only Bill Russell left from 1959-66 Boston Celtics.

Don Nelson,Mel Counts,Ron Watts and Satch Sanders from the 65-66 roster are alive

But yeah not good a trendline for Russell

Hall of famers Havlicek/KC Jones and Sam Jones leave one by one in 2019,2020 and 2021

Hall Of Fame coach Bill Fitch has died at the age of 89.  He was a two-time Coach Of The Year in the NBA, and won a championship in 1981 with the Celtics, as Larry Bird's first NBA coach.

Someone I've been watching for years now and abandoned everywhere but Alt Obits.

Elnardo Webster, who led the Peacocks to the 1968 NIT semifinals with a season that still ranks among the greatest in New Jersey collegiate history, died Tuesday. He was 74 years old. “We just found out right before practice," Saint Peter's coach Shaheen Holloway said. "It’s awful. Elnardo was a great guy and has been great to me since I’ve been here, very supportive."

Holloway said the team will do something to commemorate Webster for Friday's NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 game vs. Purdue.
