Phantom 2,533 Posted May 27, 2016 Now what would be ironic, is if Heimlich died from choking.
themaninblack 2,112 Posted May 29, 2016 a near miss. An 86 year old imperialist wifie in an oap farm , started choking to death on a hamburger. It is the same oap farm that the guy who invented the Heimlich manouvere is holed up (aged98). Downside is he saved her , dissing the irony part. Plus side, he's alive and straight on a long list Imagine the conversazione afterwards: Her: Thanks, you saved my life. Where did you get that technique from? Him: Oh, it was just something I picked up...
charon 4,943 Posted May 29, 2016 I'm sure when I did a first aid refresher 4 or 5 years back, that the guy doing the course said we were no longer to call it the Heimlich Manouvere as the family now objected to the term. Just assumed old Henry was dead.

maryportfuncity 10,647 Posted July 17, 2016 The tonnage of media coverage of the death of Qandeel Baloch has some irony given that her celebrity was largely driven by attention-seeking and part of her newsworthyness was her own stating of the fact she was putting her life in danger. The twist, she never saw the danger coming from her own brother: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-36818507

Sir Creep 7,070 Posted November 7, 2016 For the mentally-handicapped let's keep this slow for their benefit: If you drop over dead during a ''fitness test'--that would be a test to see if you are physically fit--that's what we call irony. SMFH I mean it's truly impossible to get any more basic than that. SC

Ray Fernandez Rubio, 52, was a longtime smokejumper with the Deschutes National Forest in Oregon and one of many sent to help battle the drought-fueled blazes. He was injured Nov. 22 when he was walking back to his hotel from a restaurant in the Five Points South area. Authorities said he fell over a concrete railing into a parking garage that was one story below ground level.
