Lard Bazaar 3,799 Posted July 6, 2016 We saw Bill Bailey tonight at Salisbury City Hall. Very funny and very clever comedy. Expert cowbell playing at the end. Recommended.
Toast 16,141 Posted July 24, 2016 I went to the Pet Shop Boys at the Royal Opera House. (woo-hoo) I enjoyed it very much.
maryportfuncity 10,647 Posted August 6, 2016 Myself and the Voice of Young Maryport saw Jerry Sadowitz in London last night, offensive in almost every way a comedian can be and so bloody funny we were recovering ages later. The one liners were about loads of stuff posted hereabouts ("if only Kate McCann would smile a bit more I might fancy her etc. etc") but the rants about terrorism and the like were total corkers. HIGHLY recommended.
maryportfuncity 10,647 Posted August 6, 2016 70 year old Neil Young, absolutely awesome (again) at the 02 last night. May well see at least two of his CSNY mates (Crosby and Stills) out. Nash has always had a disgustingly healthy look about him despite being a few years older than Young. But - stonking gig. Keep 'em comin' Rumour has it that Neil Young and Marni Nixon are the parents of a secret love child; I doubt it's true though. Front page of my Google search produced nowt; you got a source for that? She was way older than him
Phantom 2,533 Posted September 12, 2016 Saw NRBQ and Los Straitjackets last night. Had to leave after 20 minutes into NRBQ'S encore to get back for our babysitter. The show was well over 4 hours long and worth every penny.

Youwanticewiththat 611 Posted September 12, 2016 The Entertainer (with Branagh et al) was great grey soggy pants - we legged it at half-time.

maryportfuncity 10,647 Posted November 21, 2016 Saw PiL at the O2 Academy in Leicester on Saturday. Johnny was in great form, despite the after effects of a cold... And the lingering after effects of a few years worth of snacks!

maryportfuncity 10,647 Posted December 2, 2016 ZZ Top have been on my must see list for years - just announced as headliners for Ramblin' Man 2017, an agreeable strolling distance from the front lawns of MPFC Towers. Bring it on!

The Cure were part of my formative years, I've even gone so far as to shack up with a bloke called Robert Smith We'd tried and failed numerous times to get a ticket for The Cure, but this time I got in on a pre-sale being a SSE customer and they spend my money on sponsor Wembley Arena. They did add two extra nights though, so might have got lucky anyway later on. Unusually for a pre-sale, the seats were great - upper tier but close to the stage.
YoungWillz 21,050 Posted December 2, 2016 Going to see bands was never my thing. Only been to three in my life. Bronski Beat (original incarnation) circa 1984; Natalie Imbruglia at Barrowlands - only went to accompany my brother, but worth it to see her getting chibbed by a thrown water bottle; and Madness at the SECC - Christmas show that went on for hours. I'd love to see Green Day live, but no ambition beyond that.

Toast 16,141 Posted December 2, 2016 Id love to see John Copper Clarke. Ive only seen The Kinks, Edwin Starr, Leo Sayer and some others I cannot remember........ I've forgotten a lot of gigs I went to back in my yoof Never saw The Kinks, but did see Ray Davies in Hyde Park a while back. Saw Edwin Starr on a cross-Channel ferry once. That was a pleasant surprise, they usually had really mediocre entertainment. As for JCC - you just missed him! https://thewaterfront.ticketabc.com/events/dr-john-cooper-clark/
