Canadian Paul 97 Posted March 15, 2008 Kenny Reardon has died. He was on Canadian Paul's theme team. I'm quite surprised, especially after reading recently that two of my Theme Team picks (Elmer Lach and Milt Schmidt) were doing as well as some of the others who were a couple of years younger. Hadn't even known that Reardon had Alzheimer's. Anyhow, site updated to reflect his death. Also, per the guest question, the site is now located at www.canadianpaul.com after some server issues. Canadian Paul 97 Posted March 18, 2008 Site updated to reflect the death of Bill Brown (here's the key obit in case you were wondering). Congrats to The Carking Lot, who is but one point away from tying the lead!

Handrejka 1,904 Posted March 23, 2008 I think Paul Scofield was another one of my misses or? Is there going to be a prize for the most misses?

Canadian Paul 97 Posted April 7, 2008 Tyrone Jones takes a downturn http://www.globesports.com/servlet/story/R...tsFootball/home Probably won't count in the DDP; but my US based pool will count him... So he is still alive. I hadn't heard anything for a long time and was a bit worried that he had died ages ago and it had slipped under the radar somehow. Thanks for that. Anyhow, I'm a bit swamped at the moment, so I probably won't get to the Heston update until Thursday. Preliminary estimates show that The Carking Lot will take the lead in the Ordinary Team category though. Well done to all those who picked him!
Canadian Paul 97 Posted April 11, 2008 Site updated to reflect the death of Charlton Heston. Congrats to the six players who picked him, but especially The Carking Lot, who has now taken first place in the Ordinary Team category!

Handrejka 1,904 Posted April 12, 2008 Hi. I just had a look at my team from last year, to see how many of those have died this year and I noticed I never got my points for Jane Wyman. I know it's last year's game but could I still have my points?
Canadian Paul 97 Posted April 12, 2008 Thanks...I may have to try to scrape a team together...do I need to petition for membership? Yes, but first you must bring me the head of one of my currently living DDP picks... Seriously though, there's no petitioning or anything like that... all are welcome. All you have to do is send in your team in August and you're in! Hi. I just had a look at my team from last year, to see how many of those have died this year and I noticed I never got my points for Jane Wyman. I know it's last year's game but could I still have my points? Maybe I'm missing something here or not understanding your request, but why would you get points last year for a contestant who died this year? EDIT: I just noticed that Wyman died on September 10, and I do remember that I originally started the competition twoish weeks into September. Is that what you're referring to? Because I can't remember if I said I would end the first competition on August 31 or the September 1X (whatever day was one day before the first one started). Guest Guest_Canadian Paul_* Posted May 15, 2008 Hey all, I'm away from reliable Internet until Monday, at which time I will updated for Sendler and the near miss of Hofmann. --CP
maryportfuncity 10,647 Posted May 16, 2008 There's a dead former ruler of Kuwait to add as well, breathing life into my largely moribund theme team.
Canadian Paul 97 Posted May 20, 2008 Hey all - back from San Diego, but a little under the weather as I managed to get second-degree burns on both of my shoulders. In any case, I will update for the hits of Sendler and al-Sabah shortly, as well as the near misses of Hofmann and Lamb. I want to review all the messages that I've missed here first though. Canadian Paul 97 Posted May 21, 2008 Finally updated: congrats to Football Fan and Never Came to Maryport. Haven't done this in a while, so please point it out if I made any mistakes in updating.

Canadian Paul 97 Posted June 3, 2008 Site updated to reflect the deaths of Yves St. Laurent, Bo Diddley and Sheela Basrur. The Miser 18 Posted June 4, 2008 For my category, is "People that I wish death upon" a legit category. If not, I may go with people with bounties on their head (should achieve nearly the same list minus Rosie O'Donnell).

Right, since you could claim that anyone is on that list, so it's not discriminating or verifiable. Head bounties should be fine though. Anyhow, Ray Getliffe has apparentely died of liver cancer, which I was completely unaware that he had. Site updated anyhow. From what I've heard, by the way, apparentely Emile Bouchard and the other Ted Kennedy are doing poorly, Smith is frail but otherwise hale, and the rest of the players on my theme team are sprightly for their age, except for maybe Stewart.
