The Dead - 2007

Recommended Posts

Yes, arguably. For a start the last series was filmed last century.

O arguably. Of course. It's arguable.

Filmed last century.

It was last filmed in 1998. Last Century. Thanks for letting me know.

Thanks

I actually happened to know that already.

But you were just trying to help) - A silver star for you today!

Or maybe you were aiming higher. Just a little bit higher. Your expectations were higher.

Sometimes we don't get everything we want. So wipe those tears from your eyes and keep your head high. O and while your at it forget the logic of 'what comes up must come down'

It's all gonna be alright. Your parents love you and your future is looking real bright - your popular and your girlfriend is dynamite walking (If you get my tone). Your a superstar.

Not sure it was the best comedy of the last century. I'm currently in the process of watching season 8 at the moment.

And... hmmm it could be better

Simpsons is the best comedy of the 20th, and arguably the 21st, centuries

South park's better, less mainstream and conventional than the Simpsons. Would the Simpsons ever have done Uncle f****r? I think not.

I'm not sure I follow you Tempus, are you saying South Park is better because they say f**k and poo?

The Simpsons is no doubt one of the most influential shows in history. It gave cartoons an attitude.

South Park on the other hand wasn't only influential but South Park is politics. The creators express their opinions through the voices of Eric Cartman and Stan Marsh and the list goes on.

Brilliant. I think both shows had a five star effect on modern comedy.

Phil Rizzuto, New York Yankee legend and Hall of Famer, has died.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/base...zuto/index.html

For all those non-Americans saying, "Who?", he's referenced in an episode of Seinfeld when the head of a doll of him gets buried under some tarmac in New York city, leading to inevitable high jinks and hilarity

[Edit to add]

And d'oh from me for forgetting, but he's the one announcing the "baseball game" during Meat Loaf's Paradise by the Dashboard Light.

He also has been picked on the DDP as well.

Michael Hill, not famous but in the news a few weeks back when his daughter was kidnapped in Nigeria. She's okay, but his heart attack was fatal.

Wonder if this news gives heart specialist Ge55y McCann any sleepless nights.

The headline says:'Bomb Kills Governor' . I mean, for a second there, I thought Paul Ince was dead.

I was getting a feeling of deja-vu but it seems that this is the second Iraqi governor to have been killed within the space of about a week

Tikhon Khrennikov, former Secretary of the Union of Soviet Composers (effectively the Soviet Union's "musical overlord") under Stalin, has died aged 94.

Khrennikov "terrorised the country's leading composers - Dmitri Shostakovich, Sergei Prokofiev, Aram Khachaturian and Alfred Schnittke among them - while claiming to protect them"

Leona Helmsley, the "Queen of Mean", has died

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20358637/

She's probably about as famous outside the US as Tammy Faye Bakker Messener, and there are some similarities to their respective life stories, so it's sort of fitting they died within a few weeks of each other.

They both had the same make-up consultant by the looks of things, but Helmsley was just a bitch whereas Messner was at least quite a nice person but it was her husband at the time who was the one behind the fraud that was commited
