Bibliogryphon 9,586 Posted March 28, 2014 just heard her on radio 4. she say's she's not very well and might not be able to finish her latest book That would be very rude of her as I dropped her from my theme team because I believed her chances of surviving the year looked good. I will probably need to bring her back for next year.

Dr. Zorders 1,271 Posted June 21, 2014 Fucking hell..... absolutely shocking find. I checked elsewhere on the web and it does look like this is genuinely from a few days ago. (It's actually from Wednesday I think). Take her off the list now!
Sean 6,330 Posted June 21, 2014 I think we should swap her with Harper Lee next year!
Guest Guest Posted June 21, 2014 they can deteriorate very quickly and suddenly at that age. Some oldies can look pretty good right til the end. Then again you get ones like Zsa Zsa Gabor who can linger in a shocking state for many years. At the end of the day only God knows when our time is up..

maryportfuncity 10,647 Posted November 27, 2014 Indeed she is, so that post above about swapping her with Harper Lee next year could lead us to a win/win situation.
Sean 6,330 Posted November 27, 2014 Or we could bring back Richard Adams or Herman Wouk instead if we want an elderly author! I`m Sad that she has gone though I thought she still looked pretty good then again at 94 you can`t tell!I think the old Charity shop I worked at should raise a plaque in her memory as we always had at least several of her books on display-They sold pretty quickly too! msc 18,476 Posted November 27, 2014 Bit surprising - which feels odd to say given her age admittedly - as she seemed to have the energy of a much younger person, especially compared to some of the walking dead on the list. That's life for you.
Magere Hein 1,400 Posted November 27, 2014 And so, rather unexpectedly, we have our 9th hit. Fair chance 2014 will hit double figures. regards, Hein
gcreptile 10,978 Posted November 27, 2014 Heh, I confused her with Harper Lee. I thought it was her that sued her hometown for something I forgot about... Or we could bring back Richard Adams or Herman Wouk instead if we want an elderly author! How about Günter Grass, 87, Winner of Nobel Prize in Literature? I thought so as well for a while, but he made news today by suggesting that german citizens should be forced to shelter refugees for a while, just like after World War II. So at least he is paying attention to the news and wants to be heard.
