I stay near Auntie Phil, and for the past year there has been a mid 50's Portuguese tramp wandering about near by. Quite often if you use the Public toilets you will hear flute music from the showers.........yep, him.

 

Last night in the pub for a quick pint after work, and he got launched for having a 8 inch wooden carved pipe, that he answered like a phone, bawling his head off about it is the price you pay for freedom (about 5pm.....).

This has turned into a joke seriously. I remember when the whole crimewatch reconstruction happened and the headlines were a few days later , ''weeks away from first maddie arrests'' . Since then there has been about 3 separate occasions when this has happened, including one that said days instead of weeks, its turned in circus. This next part is one for the conspiracy thread but i wonder if the internet bloggers rightfully pointing out the holes in the mccann's story and that guy who done the book 'the truth of a lie ' were getting too close for comfort and the police and the mccanns had to deflect away from themselves and start up new wild goose chase. There was a steady build of voices asking when the mccann's have never been questioned or arrested by UK police ,so they have sidestepped it and started this new direction of the investigation . I have seen even on dedicated sleuth websites critical of the mccanns and who thought they done it now start to put all their effort in this so called new lead.

Not sure about the above. Firstly, nothing was hidden from our police so it's a reasonable guess that if they'd seen fit to arrest/interview the McCanns they'd have done it. Secondly, the "new" leads turn up something of importance, other verified cases of break in and sexual assualt (granted, something you'd find in many holiday hotspots) which occured when the McCanns were nowhere near and remain unsolved. Thirdly, all of the above simply makes the case that the local police are pretty crap, which is what our police and the McCanns have been hinting at for a while. Whether they'll ever find poor Maddie is another question. But it looks on this evidence like that part of the Algarve has been a paedo paradise for a while, so some careless kiddy fiddler might have left enough clues for a half decent police investigation to heat up the cold trail and move this shit forward.

I did go and check on that one; she is from Liverpool, he from Glasgow. However Madelaine was born in Leicester which makes her a proud member of the East Midlands community who are neither north nor south nor Brummies (despite what the ITV adaptation of Adrian Mole would have you believe). The school she was enrolled at before she went missing is close to my in-laws house.

There's nothing to stop anyone here accessing a download (which I'm assuming are freely available in cyberspace). Given that the detective is using a few obvious ruses, like sacking his lawyer, to avoid court I can't help thinking he's shitting himself about losing once he faces the McCanns in court. In any case, there's a separate legal argument to he had about libel/their reputation in the UK, where I think they could make a really good case that his malicious smearing and attempts to cover his own incompetance would harm their reputation and - by implication - their ability to raise money to fund the search for Madeline.
