F*ck, just dropped him this year… first miss for my french list.
His only son, Marc Edouard Nabe (wiki) is an asshole : he’s an « artist » from far far right (friend with Le Pen) who pop up sometimes to spread conspiracy theories. He created his own wikipedia site called « wikinabia » in which he writes himself all the articles about people or things he believes in. I’ve never seen such an ego !

Noted Kansas City jazz icon Ida McBeth has died.

Her website confirmed that McBeth has passed away Wednesday "after an extended illness."

McBeth, 70, a self-proclaimed “song stylist,” was best known for her soulful jazz voice, but her repertoire also included blues, R&B, gospel, funk, show tunes and pop ballads.

Now this amused me somewhat.

The Guardian obit for Wally Fawkes was written by George Melly(!) who predeceased Fawkes by 16 years.

You're not the only one amused.

From btl...

Heh. I opened the article wondering what it would say about my dad's work with him on Flook, only to find it written by him.

Peter Brötzmann issued a statement reagarding his health condition, it reads as follows:

TIME FOR SOME FACTS:
YES, I HAD A COMPLETE BREAKDOWN COMING HOME FROM WARSAW AND LONDON AND YES, EMERGENCY, RE-ANIMATION, INTENSIVE CARE AND YES, OUT OF HOSPITAL SINCE 10 DAYS AND TRYING TO ORGANISE MY DAILY LIFE AND NO, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE FUTURE WILL LOOK LIKE AND NO, I WON’T BE ABLE TO PLAY IN THE (NEAR) FUTURE, MEANS NO TRAVEL AND NO STAGE.
