Beatrice 0 Posted May 23, 2008 Ah, jolly good, I was looking in the wrong place obviously. I'm currently composing a country and western style lament based on Joey, Robert and Michael's acheivements - too tacky?

VSBfromH 74 Posted May 23, 2008 The plastic surgeon who supposedly rebuilt Tara Palmer-Tomkinson's nose, 'King of Rhinoplasty' Martin Kelly, has died of a suspected heart attack aged 42. He was also actress Natascha McElhone's husband. Shows what I know! I thought she was one of "Atomic Kitten"!

Smashing idea - could I recommend a coda comprising of motorcycle guitar (a la Bat Out of Hell) and topped off with a poignant musical saw solo. The Dunlops would have wanted it that way. Possibly. maryportfuncity 10,645 Posted May 23, 2008 Just heard on Radio Four that Wilfred - Twilight of the Gods - Mellors is dead. Eccentric composer and academic who was amongst the first to take The Beatles seriously. TBH I'm amazed he made it to 2008.

The For Whores Man 4 Posted May 24, 2008 Colombian FARC rebel commander, Manuel Marulanda, is dead. This guy is (was) a big hero of mine. His real name is Pedro Antonio Marin. I'm very sad and angry that he is dead. If you have the chance, go and find something about him. You can achieve inspiration of him too for sure. But at least it's my first hit on the Handrejka Pool of Death! As we say in Macedonia (translated), "There's always something living under every stone.". It means like "ok, every bad thing has at minimum *something* good happening in the same time of it". Not a unique pick, shamedly. DDT and Swoed of Damocles also have him on Handpoolofdeath. If I had used his real named, I would have unique pick status and bonus points, for sh*t is sake.

I'm not sure if he's going to get us any points - according to this BBC article he died on the 26th March, 6 weeks before the PoolofDeath got going and two weeks before I mentioned him on the ideas thread. Octopus of Odstock 2,187 Posted May 24, 2008 Colombian FARC rebel commander, Manuel Marulanda, is dead. Is that actually confirmed, DDT as the last I heard, Colombian government sources were checking the validity of the reports? After all the man has "died" more times than Derby County have lost a game this season. The only reason I ask is DDP points would be awarded, March or no March, though it throws the DDP history in a tizzy... are hits consecutive now he's gone in March? Ah well, I'll think of an answer. EDIT The Army are saying he is dead too and have named a successor, which means if all this is true, then, far from being the first time, The Miami Herald is full of sh*t if Marulanda was meeting Venezulan officials last week... Either way, I might just hang on a little bit longer before I update the DDP site, especially as I have nothing else to update at the same time.

It would be worth waiting for more information - you might also need to consider awarding unnatural death bonus points. He's certainly dead, but there seems to be some dispute about if he died of a heart attack, prostate cancer or was blown to smithereens in a bombing raid which took place that day.
