Vincenzo D'Amico, part of the infamous nutjob Lazio scudetto-winning team of 1974 but never capped for the Italian national team, dead at 68. Was also the last player to score a goal for the original NY Cosmos during a friendly in 1985.

Klaus Täuber, German from Erlangen, Bavaria, was a German professional footballer who played as a striker for SpVgg Erlangen, 1. FC Nürnberg, Stuttgarter Kickers, Schalke 04 and Bayer Leverkusen and was coach of Schalke 04 died aged 65 on 1/July

Theo Pahlplatz was a Dutch footballer who played as an attacker or midfielder born in Oldenzaal, died aged 76 in 2/jul, Pahlplatz spent most of his career at FC Twente, after a spell at Quick '20, his hometown club. He was part of the team that won the 1976–77 KNVB Cup and also played European football in the UEFA Cup, finishing on the losing side in the 1975 UEFA Cup Final, played 13 games for the Netherlands, scoring 3 goals

Georges Bereta was born in Saint-Étienne and died aged 77, he was a former French footballer of Polish descent. From 1966 to 1974 he played for Saint-Étienne before moving to Marseille until he retired in 1978.French champion in 1966–67, 1967–68, 1968–69, 1969–70, 1973–74, 1974–75 , French Cup in 1967–68, 1969–70, 1973–74, and with Marseille French Cup champion in 1975–76

He played for the French national team as well, being captain

Most importantly, he was 6 times French Champion ! In 67, 68, 69, 70, 74 and 75. This was the (joint) record for a player until 2008.

Keith Ball, born in Walsall, died in July aged 82, was an English footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He made 145 league and cup appearances for Port Vale and had three spells at Walsall. He also played non-league football for Worcester City, Stourport, Darlaston, Nuneaton Borough and Kidderminster Harriers. He was a team player as Walsall won back-to-back promotions in 1959–60 and 1960–61, and was an ever-present for Port Vale as they won promotion from the Fourth Division in 1968–69.

The death of Suarez makes Denis Law the earliest-surviving Ballon d'Or winner, he won the award in 1964.

Seilda Baishakov was a Kazakh professional footballer who played as a defender. Baishakov played seven seasons in the Soviet League and made nearly 300 league appearances for FC Kairat during his career. He made two appearances for the USSR national team. Baishakov made his debut for the USSR on 30 April 1977, in a 1978 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Hungary, and managed FC Kairat,was recognized as the best Kazakh football player of the 20th century

Chris Garland, who played in all four divisions of the Football League and more notably for Bristol City and Chelsea, dead at 74. Had been suffering from Parkinson's since 1988.

Oh no, what a shame.

 

That said he had been ill for years. I was on holiday in Minehead and I distinctly remember when they held a testimonial for him at the very picturesque Minehead FC when his illness was announced.
