He was 77. Baird had suffered a stroke a week before he died on April 11 in Memphis. Baird worked for the AP in Memphis from 1982 to 2009, when he retired. He had been battling end-stage kidney failure and had passed away at his home. According to Fox 11, Valdez worked at the station for 35 years and retired in 2016. I know podcasters are not necessarily journalists, indeed most arent but my tired brain could not think which thread podcasters belong in and when I used forum search for podcasters there were few results but journalists was one of the specific topic threads with a mention .
