Gangster, Gangster

The aging Bonanno capo who famously dodged prison after being brought to trial for the 1978 Lufthansa heist made famous in “Goodfellas,” slipped and fell in the jailhouse shower last week — and couldn’t get up.  Vincent Asaro, 82, looked stiff and haggard during a brief appearance in Brooklyn federal court Monday for his new arson case, as defense attorney Elizabeth Macedonio told Judge Allyne Ross her client was hospitalized after the shower slip at the Manhattan Detention Complex.  Macedonio added that her client was only discovered lying on the shower-room tile floor because she miraculously went to visit him that day.

Genovese family hitman Joseph "Mad Dog" Sullivan, the only man to ever escape Attica prison, dead at 78. The nickname "Mad Dog" wasn't due to his violent tendencies, but rather his habit of spitting while talking.

The man who established the Black Power gang in the 1970s, Reitu Harris, has died.

As the founding president Harris created the gang to help Māori boys who had been in state care, and were disconnected from their marae and iwi.

If you are a young man between the ages of 17-25, Please avoid going outside in Copenhagen, Danmark and Malmø,Sweden. There is a gang situation going on. In the past 12 hours there have been 3 shootings in Copenhagen, Denmark - 23 shootings since 7 June 2017. This is a warning given out by the Copenhagen police (the first of its kind since World War 2). In Malmø, Sweden, across the bridge from Copenhagen there have been 23 shootings (resulting in 7 deaths) since 1 January 2017.  Once peaceful and extremely safe countries have turned into hell-holes. Wonder why.

Most of the current capi of the American Mafia are in their 70s and unlikely to be shot any time soon. Not good days for scumbags. Totò Riina has spent the last two days in a coma and is not expected to recover.

Italian media reporting him dead now:

EDIT: Mirror the first to give an English-language obit (along with a QO for purposes of the Poker dead pool)
