Frank LoCascio, a former Gambino underboss, has died in prison. He was 89. He was found guilty of racketeering in 1992. He was quoted at the time as saying, “If there was more men like John Gotti, we would have a better country.”

To my knowledge, he was the oldest notable member of any of the U.S. crime families.

Only one of the Gigante brothers left alive – Louis Gigante (wiki), who was a Catholic priest and stayed out of organised crime but is alleged to have sexually abused young boys. I can't find an age for him anywhere.

His wiki page reports his name as "Mario Esposito Vulgo Gigante". Actually "vulgo" in Italian means "known as", so it should sound as "Mario Esposito" known as "Giant", where "Giant" must be the family's "nickname".

I'm also suprised that Russia's capo dei capi, putin crony Semion Mogilevich is still alive at 75. He's never looked like the picture of health

Canadian gangster Curtis Vidal has died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds. Vidal is alleged to have had connections to the Hells Angels. His brother was the victim of an unsolved 2019 homicide.

One of Chicago's most notable names has died. Patrick Spilotro, who was known as Dr. Pat and the "Stand-up Spilotro," died at age 85 at the end of April, his family said.
Patrick was the older brother to a pair of Chicago mobsters who met a merciless death in an Indiana cornfield decades ago.
