Hamish no More. Former Scotland player Hamish K. More has died aged 81. Played 18 first class matches & toured with the MCC in '78-79.

He still holds the Scottish record for catches in a match, 7 vs Pakistan, taken in 1971.

Aftab Baloch, who scored 428 for Sind v Baluchistan in February 1974 and was surely unlucky to only play two Tests, dead at 68. He toured England that year and was given room number 428 in one of the team's hotels.

He's nearly 89. Doesn't look great but doesn’t look terrible either.

I think we all know that cricket is not my strongest topic, by far. However, I am reliably told by friends that Sir Garfield Sobers showed up during the recent England/West Indies game, looking "considerably frailer" than he used to.

Guardian seems to agree: "The cameras find Sir Garfield Sobers, looking frail but cracking a smile."

Anyhow, a name big enough that I know of it, so passing the seemingly unreported chatter on.

Hugh Edmeades, IPL Auctioneer, faints due to what is apparently Postural Hypotension. He's a 35-year Christie's veteran and might be an interesting reach for non-QO pools

Trinidad & Tobago's West Indian spin bowler Sonny Ramadhin is 92 today. He's the 7th oldest living former test cricketer (male). He was selected for the West Indies tour of England in 1950, taking 11 wickets in the Lords test as West Indies recorded their first victory there. He, alongside fellow spinner Alf Valentine was commemorated in song by Lord Beginner.

Seems that one of his friends has posted that Sonny Ramadhin has died:

Awaiting the usual.

The trade press has picked it up, the general media won't be far behind.

Hopefully Rod didn’t waste that tenner. Strewth, mate - he’s made the ashes team alright.
