You can tell how much it meant to her at the end. She wasn't sure she'd ever be able to do it again, now she's just closed an Olympic Opening Ceremony.

I’ll be listening to that performance again and again. Absolutely flawless.

Holy shit, I was wrong... Kelly Clarkson is losing her mind about this on NBC's commentary at the moment.

The oldest French medallist I think they said on BBC. 100 years old, won in London 1948.

She was superb

And it’s quite possibly her most watched live performance ever! Beating Eurovision 1988.

Although not her most heard, probably. Unless they release a record of it. Which the IOC would be stupid not to at this point.

I have nothing with her music but, damn.... even I was in awe and had trouble kicking those damn onion chopping ninjas out.

Well deserved praise!

Not her first Olympic rodeo:

I'm not a fan - but let's face it, you don't get a bigger audience than the Olympic opening ceremony. One of those ignore the pain, just push through it.

Let's relive it time and again:

So much feeling and emotion than she has ever brought before to this, just amazing.

She looked and sounded fantastic.  What a triumph!

I've been hearing from some people that it may have been a lip sync, but it doesn't sound like a terribly old recording either way... Irrelevant for our concerns.

If it was, it was literally perfect, nothing was off.  Not even a nanosecond.  Which makes me think it was her singing live.  But you're right, even if it wasn't, like Pavarotti's final performance at the Torino Winter Olympics, it was still inspiring.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they did ready a track for lip sync just in case she was unable to perform it live, but personally that performance sounds live to me.

If it’s not live, it’s still very commendable and very convincing.
