Sir Creep 7,070 Posted August 8, 2017 3 minutes ago, The Ashes Urn said: RIP Glen. Rhinestone Cowboy is a great song. Wichita Lineman too. He certainly had a few. Southern Nights was a big hit but hokey. Like John Denver in a way, same niche..... and Denver's 'Thank God I'm A Country Boy' hokey shlock that interfered with an otherwise talented ouvre. YoungWillz 21,062 Posted August 8, 2017 A release for him at last. Having outlived a ton of his songwriters, it is sad loss for many who found country more accessible through him. Good rest, sir and thanks for your contribution. RIP.

CoffinLodger 1,248 Posted August 8, 2017 I DON'T WANT TO GIVE MY AGE AWAY, but as a child I remember singing over and over one of Glen Campbells greatest hits, Rhinestone Cowboy. For some reason I was obsessed with the song, and Campbell for ages! I therefore feel his loss in a weirdly personal way, for someone who never met him.He was quite simply, to me at least, a titan of music. RIP great man .

Sir Creep 7,070 Posted August 8, 2017 Seeing as it was Campbell who was my 20th DDP name that I inserted when I gave John Wetton the ill-advised boot, there is ever-so-slight vindication for Cancel My Appointments. SC
